I don’t go in for graded coins, but hypothetically, to answer your question, I’d pick the normal label.
As I said, in my opinion, the First Release label has nothing to do with numismatics, and is a gimmick which I wouldn’t want associated with my coin.
I realize some may feel it adds value or prestige to the coin, but I have a contrary view - I think it cheapens it.

Not trying to rub any salt into anyone’s wounds… but honestly… what does FIRST RELEASE have to do with anything?
All Proof coins, whether struck first or last, are meant to be the same quality; and there is no guarantee a “first release” (a very random contrivance by the grading companies!) is any different from a later release.
This is another reason I’m not into grading. Third party companies creating a business model for a need that they’ve fabricated - and cashing in at the expense of collectors. It makes no sense to me at all.
I can see a need for third party companies (i.e., besides the official Mints) to provide an authentication service for verifying coins as genuine, because fakes exist; but anything beyond that is a classic case of “creating a market”.

That’s another of my (personal) contentions with grading - the difference between 69 and 70 is so small as to be almost entirely subjective.
It’s worse with the “first release” timeframe. It is entirely an arbitrary period - the grading companies could make it 1 month or 6.5 weeks or 71 days - and it has nothing to do with the minting process or the quality or really anything at all.
I’m not begrudging collectors who go after this. To each their own.
But IMO something like a first release label adds nothing to numismatics.

I was looking at pictures on the today I recieved thread and, I'm not sure why I didn't see it before, well, is it just me or does the lion look a bit camp? That's a very limp wrist/paw.
 Nothing wrong with that of course, I respect its right to live as it pleases without judgement but I can't unsee it now

When this proof sovereign lands on my doorstep I am guessing the purchase price will be about £50 under spot happy days 😂

It kind of blows my mind that they're selling a matt finish coin for almost 3 grand and yet they have to advertise it with a picture of a proof coin and a written disclaimer. I presume this is because they haven't even gotten around to striking a single coin with the finish they are actually advertising. 

After tomorrow, dealers can't sell them. It's the last chance before numbers are set. That would mean any unsold would need to be sent back to the mint or they buy them and hold long term to realise their full potential. I don't think many dealers want to hold onto stock long term so they're trying to makeca buck before they need to be sent vack for the melting pot

So many pessimists in this thread lol. The timing of these sovereigns is probably the worst right now. I can't see how these are going to lose long term. I'm no expert obviously but time will tell if I'm right or wrong. Anyone who has these on order really shouldn't be worried or take too much notice of the the naysayers on this one. At worst they'll break even and at best they'll be worth quite a bit more in my own opinion.

The spanish doubloon 2022 (The Bull) has the inclusion on the obverse of a security measure patented by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre - Real Casa de la Moneda itself, the quadruple latent image. This security measure makes it possible to see four different images in the same space on the coin, depending on the incidence of light and the angle at which it is viewed. The coin features the mintmark, a five-pointed star, the graphic euro symbol and the silhouette of the "pillar of Hercules".


The effect is achieved on the metal, engraving a succession of square-based pyramids.
Each face of the pyramid works as a pixel so that all sides with the same orientation form a complete image.
 

 
The Spanish Royal Mint (FMNT) patented the system with two faces long time ago, now the patent is expired and other mints like the Royal English Mint, used this kind of images with to faces, and because of that, the FMNT invented the system with four faces.

I'm sorry but for the premium paid, you/we should be guaranteed a perfect coin. Whether from a dealer or direct from source! 
When an entity ramps up production and starts releasing a new coin every fortnight, then it's common sense that quality will suffer. Now add the fact that premium has been increased, it's nothing short of moronic and will end badly for the mint. Short-term gain will create long-term pain.

They make you feel like you are already one month in, so one more month won’t hurt, then give you the bad news of another month, and then another etc. Taking people for fools 😤 

If that is correct and NO production will start until then, it is a disgrace that the MInt has issued these and taken money a month before. Appalling.

I mean it's certainly 'Full On' but I like it. I do wonder how well this translates onto the bullion coin though. Proof might be the only way to see the detail on this one.
