Are you happy with the results yourself?

So this confirms that milk spots will affect any grading score, negatively...

Well, cant say i am happy. Yes the milkspot definetely affect grading. I think milk spots appears mostly in the first few weeks of the coins creation. Some very early graded coins that achieve pf70 can develope a lot of milkspots that would nkt justify the top grade.

Can I ask whether you bought these directly from the Royal Mint?  Doesn't the Royal Mint say that it aims to produce coins that are at least PF68?  As you have a PF67, surely you could have grounds for complaint?  How could this one have gone through a quality control check???

Yes directly. Definetely there is room for complaint. I sent them an email complaining for the quality. They did offer a refund which i declined as i wanted to keep the set. They really need to up their quality check.

Thanks for sharing the results. At least you did not get any details notations.

Did you request conservation when you submitted?

No problem mate. I thought many would be interested to know. Yes conservation was requested but has not been done. They usually do not do in modern coins. On some of my coins the milk spots were smaller before i send them out. By the time the coins arrived to Ngc, more spots were developed.

  4. Hi all,

I prefer to collect most of my coins in ngc slabs so i sent this set for grading.

i noticed the milk spots and i knew it would not achieve very well but  decided to do it anyway and upgrade any coin to higher grade in the future if i could find any.
After reading all the disapoinment (including mine) i am not sure if it will be possible to get this set in pf 69-70 as very few have been graded and as far as i understand , there wont be any restrikes from the mint.
If anyone else has graded any of those please let me know. Also please feel free to share your thoughts on my coins.
    Thank you

Newbie question here: what's the difference between TCC37 and TCC38 (except £1,700 that is )?

These are past auctions from “The coin cabinet”. He is comparing sale prices for these coins in the last 4 auctions to show the movement in price.

  6. wow that 1 kilo coin sold out fast! It now says "no longer available". Do you guys think they will make some more soon or is that it?

Anyone saw the mintage/availability of the 1 kilo coin when they released it today?

  7. I logged in yestarday morning to check if “Alice in Wonderland” coin is being released. Not that i was planning to buy one, but out of curiosity to see the design and mintages (and who knows? Maybe i will love the design and buy one 😊).

i saw the queue screen and then the picture of the queen beasts set..

when the waiting was over i was number 300ish in the queue which loaded almost instantly and when i got in the site i couldnt see anything..

so i went to the coffee shop next door and got myself a coffee and while waiting for my coffee i checked on my phone the RM website again and i saw the sets!

i felt the rush going through my veins to my brain. The sets looked amazing and had to have them to finish my QB collection!
i blew up my bank account again but i managed to grab both silver sets. Gold set was too expensive for me.

When i finished purchaseing both sets i checked in the QB section and was totally suprised to see that the 2oz proof completer was up for sale and they still had some left so i managed to get one of those too.

i was extremely lucky and happy.

cant wait to receive my coins! This is one of the best series worldwide for me! Hope everyone who got one enjoy them and everyone who did not better luck next time .

  8. Everytime i go to the post office to ship a coin to EU or UK or USA i have the same problem. Either by normal post or UPS or DHL or FedEx, they all basically prohibit sending precious metals or bullion and generally coins so unless you write that your package contains something else you run the risk of your package not being accepted.

A silver coin of smaller value can be send registered but not insured as the risk and value is less, but what happens with something of great value?
i am wondering how everyone else can send their coins safely and secure around the world,  especially coins of big value.

  9. All the coin dealers i know offer much less to buy back scratched bullion coins . If i am buying and paying a premium, i expect to get a perfect coin, otherwise i wont be happy paying that premium. The Royal Mint should replace any scratched coins they produce if asked to do so and to be honest they should improve on their quality check. I have never had a problem with any of the other big mints around the world.

  10. So my Queens Beast Completer gold proof coin finally arrives, after a month of being interoggated by the ruthless Cyprus Customs officers 🤦🏻‍♂️😂. When i inspected the coin at first i did not see any of the usual problems that other collectors have been reporting and i was very happy to receive a flawless coin. However, on a second viewing i noticed a very small scratch on the rim , barely noticable. I attached a couple of photos for you all.

i was planning to have this coin graded. Do you think it will grade well or will the scratch on the rim affect the grade?

I am also considering asking for a replacement, although i am not sure it is worth the trouble..

  11. Hi all and good luck with this one. I logged in on my pc at 9 on release day and i was like 36th in line. When i got in everything was available, so naturally i went for the 1 oz proof gold. I had my wife next to me trying to get one for her too as we are both collectors 🙂. Whatever i was pressing to put in my cart kept the website crushing sending me on the homepage. My wife actually put the gold 1oz proof in the cart and she was completing the order but for some reason it didn’t go through. After a few minutes of screaming, cold sweat and a bit of crying..
We finally grabbed our phones and logged in from there and managed to both get 1oz gold proof coins! I am not sure if the coins will actually arrive but we are crossing our fingers that our otders wont be cancelled. Everything was sold out in couple of minutes really! We also got the silver 1oz version which i see has also sold out within 24 hours! This coin is one of the most beautiful i have seen and hope to get it soon and add it to my collection soon 🥰
