That's true. I've just looked at the price of gold and held off buying a sovereign....then blew £500 on a crossbow and £50 on a viking style drinking horn 🤣
Stopping impulse buying s**** was the reason I started stacking 🤣
Anyone want to swap a crossbow and a drinking horn for a sovereign?

The numbers are, however, a lovely little bonus and time in this hobby has done me well when you look at the charts.    

This could be a very long journey you are embarking on, and could take many years!
Best read lots of books, and ask for advice when needed…
Started my journey over 25 years ago. Here’s a selection of different obverses since 1817, then of course there are overseas mints etc etc. Just start with a simple bullion Sovereign, and twiddle it between your fingers…🙂!!

Arrived this morning in splendid form, the 2024 Proof Sovereign, graded. 
 

Absolutely stunning. RM got this one right thats for sure. The 2 Oz and 5oz St George at  only a few percent over release price..😉 couldn't be happier with these

Something like 6 years ago a Sov was the price of today’s half’s Sov… 
 

 

Never had anything to do with spread betting so no experience to comment.
I just buy and hold physical for retirement. I'm not wishing to beat the market in the short term. Happily confident gold will serve me well in the long term

I drew a very rough line earlier this week and its hit it near enough to the penny today. 
I sold everything 2 days ago - should have had confidence in myself.  
I know a lot of people laugh at charting on here - but that was spot on
Im betting on a lot of profit taking here & a big WONGA sized pull back on Monday.  

I take exception to that remark! But, well . . . yes.

I would happily fill the bar for every attendee at any forum meet up as way of thanks for what I've learnt here, deals I've done and contacts I've made🍺🍻

1999 - 395 tons @ $275 oz 
So imagine if Brown had held…. 
2024 - 395 tons @ $2233 oz
