Get it valued first and work your way from there. Most auction houses have a valuation day and don't think they charge for it.

I'm not overly sure what the crack is with selling diamonds with out the certificate but I am sure they will let you know.
I think this is the best option to be fair, I'll have a look around 👍

If the diamonds are large single stones than be worth something on the gold weight. If they are little things, worth nothing. Remember no one puts a good diamond in 9ct gold. Good diamonds go in 18ct gold and above. Could be 15ct if American jewellery.
Photos would be useful.
Like Leon said, Jewellery does not sell for a premium on this forum.
I'll add some pictures this evening, I think they are all mostly 18ct+, I'll check some hallmarks and see what's what.

I like to think that you could have bought half the same bar in silver for the same price before 2004!
My maths is not great but thats £30 kg to £895 kg in 6 years.
One off I am not so sure given the cycle & demand vs supply going forward.
You could have bought almost 2 x 5kg for the same price not long ago.
Thats impressive growth in price.True, the premium on the Geiger (etc) bars is pretty hefty but they look a lot nicer than the hand poured ones I've seen on ebay etc, I didn't buy this as an investment anyway I just wanted it 🤣

great, I assumed as much tbh.
Copper is Copper, its not hall marked or numbered or anything.Probably sa bit like VW & Skoda.
They ended up sending a Geiger bar after all 🤷♂️ looks nice (shame it's not gold 🤣) Won't be making it a habit at those prices though.

I would be interested in this as I ordered a 5kg Gieger bar looking at Ebay just now!
I received a different brand?I spoke to the supplier and asked if I'd receive a Geiger bar and they said they had Leipziger bars in stock, looks like it's their sister company and they are basically the same thing just made at a different factory.
-
Anyone know if there should be much difference in premium between Geiger and Leipziger bars?

Thanks @Stacktastic I found one for £35 so might get it. I managed to get 15 1oz copper rounds for 80p each the other day which I thought was OK, I had said before I found 100 bronze pennies but it was actually about 250 so think that will be enough if I get the 1kg bar.

They are sold out now, just looked and could only see the £899 bargain proof sovereigns on there 🤣

Is £37 + £6p&p an OK price for a 1kg Geiger copper bar?
I found about 100 old UK bronze pennies and cleaned them up to store the other day and for some reason I want more copper now 🤣
