Gold down a little, Sterling up a little - what more invitation do you need for a cheeky unscheduled gold purchase?
A nice shiny 2022 half sovereign.

Only a week after picking up the double as well! Feeling like a high roller - if only I could maintain a £900 a week habit...😄
Anyway into the case with its big brother, only the full and the teeny-weeny quarter to go. (Won't be next week unfortunately☹)

Received this lovely little fella today courtesy of @Squalleonhart. Top forum member. Always nice to win a prize, even better when it’s a silver one!
Thanks again for running the competition and making this forum a great place to be a part of.

Had my eye on this coin design for a while! Happy to finally have one even if it does have a tiny ding on the edge.

    Today (recently, lol) I received...
This fantastic and scarce coin which for the time being is the crown jewel of my LMU collection.
The coin is an 1848 Republic of Venice (San Marco) 20 Lire. A one-year edition only, as the revolutions of 1848-49 sweeping Europe generally, and the Italian States in particular, turned out to be fairly short lived.
A total of 5,210 of these absolutely breathtaking 20 Lire coins were minted (I believe in Turin, but I haven't confirmed). The obverse is the Lion of St. Mark, and value within wreath on the reverse.
One thing that I have noticed with graded pieces is there is a prevalence of Prooflike designations for these coins. I've tried to capture the reflective, prooflike nature of this coin but its really difficult to do in photos. In hand, it is amazing to see. A very, very beautiful mirrorlike finish. Angle it in the sunlight the right way and you could signal an airplane with it! One of the nicest coins I've had the privilege to add to the LMU collection and one of the very few raw coins I would consider sending off for grading to validate and conserve it.

Three Britannias from @arphethean and a 🐯 1/10th ounce (they're so tiny) from Atkinsons while the price of gold dipped yesterday. Fast delivery and great service from both 👌

2021 RM Silver Proof Coin Set with Machin Ten Bob Bit   With a mintage limited to a maximum (and as yet unconfirmed) mintage of 550, I was pleasantly surprised to pick this set up at auction at a delivered price equating to a 60%+ discount on last year's issue price. Even for the RM that is a hefty tumble, so I am led to conclude that the auction house's decision to leave the set in its unopened state and offer only a photo of the outer cardboard box worked heavily in my favour.   Standing head and shoulders above the rest is the Decimal Day 50p with the Arnold Machin obverse, a coin only available in this set. A very good-looking coin.   The RM has clearly subcontracted its research to the likes of the criminally inept Gates funded Full Fact. Quadrupedal invaders are precisely what HG Wells did not describe. Notwithstanding, the coin - much like the Logie Baird 50p - is otherwise not unattractive.   The £5 crown and Walter Scott £2 coin both show the unmitigated lack of imagination that fairly represents the lack of thought so prevalent throughout the UK in 2021.

    Had a double delivery this morning. A second 1/10 Elephant (2016) from @silverroller and 3 x 1/10 Brits (2021) courtesy of @RiverbankSilver.
Still looking for another Elephant, very reluctant to pay the premium Atkinson's are charging for their '22.
Pulled the trigger on a few more last night from a certain dealer up in Lancashire, so the collection growing nicely 👊

So after eying up @Leonmarshwatch listing, I was sent down a rabbit hole of research, videos, reviews and online browsing.
I ended up with the following which came today. Not a coin but I thought I would share as technically, it’s Leon’s fault for sparking the idea of a new watch.
    Omega Seamaster 300 2021
