I am quite simple in my approach. The money I spend on silver is pin money that I have no use for. I buy silver because it is beautiful whereas gold (at least to me) is ugly and clunky. I also think that gold is way overpriced. I see a concerted effort to force the price down long before it goes boom. Besides, the silver is my grandkids inheritance.

It's difficult to get anything, other than marginally above spot, past the TSF price police. 🙂

Dropbox, like icloud, onedrive and many other services are cloud based i.e. on someone else's kit. That kit is looked after by a human being who has access to everything and can bypass any server security. Server security is built to keep outsiders out, not insiders out. That is why we encrypt the data and then password protect it.
Consider what would happen, God forbid, if you were both to die in a car crash. What then? We have a similar letter for our lad in the event.

Vernam perfect cipher here (One Time Pad). Doesn't require remembering/knowing any password, just having the two halves such as two USB's or CD/DVD's. Low level, boots and runs in ram only, so no background caching or swap copies. Conceptually at least even Quantum Computing hack resistant.

A really interesting topic. My understanding is that banks have to, by law (anti money laundering and funding of terrorism), check to ensure that the outflow of funds are, to the best of their knowledge, used for legal purposes. All financial institutions do. To avoid mandatory checks (transactions over £2,000) from memory, the bad guys are making multiple transactions. Look where an ounce of gold sits in the £0 to £2,000 band.
I agree that it is wise to have more than one funded account and an earlier poster mentioned that his account was blocked because he had forgotten his telephone pin. I experienced that too. My solution was to create a password protected spreadsheet which, in turn, is encrypted (very easy, no real technical knowledge needed). In the spreadsheet was a list of every financial account I have e.g. bank accounts RM, property deeds, works pension funds, images of my Will, premium bonds, insurance,  National Lottery, SIPP, ISA, etc together with URL, account numbers, passwords, memorable information, PINs, safe combination and so on.
The spreadsheet was emailed to my better half and downloaded onto her computer, backed up and the email permanently deleted. She then has the password should it ever be required. Simple to set up. Simple to maintain. Effective.

My stack is for my grandkids, not for me. I buy two of everything so no one is left out. Last night I won the Apollo 11 set on here. The first time I ever bought something just for myself.  I like beautiful (to me) things. I got given a painting for my birthday one year. Nobody else likes it but I do. I know exactly how much it cost as I looked admiringly at it but would never spend the money on it for myself. I was so disappointed when I saw that it had been removed from the wall, I could have kicked myself. I am like that with silver.

Money is kind of like energy, it doesn't get used, it gets converted. Spending cash by buying silver or gold is not losing money, simply converting it to another form.

You are probably right financially but, to me, silver is a thing of beauty. I don't get that same buzz with gold. Pleasure has a cost.

This is an issue. I would prefer the UK enable firearms to be kept and used for personal protection. If Switzerland can surely the UK can.

I will be getting my extra 10.1% extra next week. I still enjoy working and just get my wages paid direct into my partner's bank account, I never see it, I don't need it. So, although my state pension has increased, my tax code has decreased to S85L rather than the standard S1257L. This upsets my better half as I get a pay increase and she gets a pay decrease 🙂

But silver is just a different beast altogether. Stunningly beautiful.
