Anyone got any ideas where the price of silver is going and why its dropped despite gold going back over $1900??
Looking to buy a couple of KG's but dont want it going to £16 next week.
Reeks of manipulation if you ask me, not had time to look into it.

This is unbelievably high, goodness me, I try to listen to various people on how this will play out and track this inflation issue but who knows what happens in the months and years ahead

So I didn't see this yesterday... but
Spanish PPI 46.6% YoY
There is only one outcome for inflation at levels like this. It does also mean that CPI is waaay higher than reported, but then we know they fudge the numbers, include the PPI figures.

Happy to sell you a tube of 2016 Britannias £25 cheaper than Atkinson when you decide the price is right.
I personally think the predicted bloodbath won't last for long though. Same with platinum. It might put in a dramatic short lived spike, but I can't see physical being delivered at a loss. The miners can't afford to pay the high energy costs and subsidise wall street traders with delivery at a loss. They might just get away with it this month, but it'll cause cutback decisions to hunker down until physical can be delivered at a profit.
I read somewhere that Germany had the highest producer inflation last month since the 1940's. Literally everything is rising fast. Unless miners are planning to desperately sell product at a loss to stay afloat, I can't foresee anything other than mines scaling back at these prices vs energy costs. Pure speculation on my part of course!!

Once the war is over I think we will see a crash, not sure at all what that will be but good will come down and after a little while it will shoot back up with the economy of the world being in tatters, that will be the dip to buy

With the shear valve of just the 2oz silver arms and gothic alone rrp is just shy of £2.1million why haven't they brought in automated qc controls that photos each coin prior to packing and rejects any that are damaged or have imperfections? . Most if not all car manufacturers do it to make sure holes are in the right place any defect is then flagged up.

trouble is people buy when its going up. not down. ,, its easy to say ill buy at 1250 sterling.. but when its down there it feels like a sell.

100% I want to see a big dip then I will buy another load, I don’t think much will come of the Russia situation and then it will come down again BUT George gammon was on post cast saying the fed might raise interest rates this week, not sure if that will push gold up or bring it down

It’s a different view on things, but, for some of us (I’m sure I’m not alone) who are newer to stacking, I don’t like seeing the price of PM’s going up!
I really like it when they go down as it’s a chance to buy. I obviously want the long term trend to be upwards but kind of like watching any reduction in gold price as it gives me a chance to buy. For anyone at the start of their PM journey/addiction🤔😆 everything is a wee bit back to from from the general forum mood.

Martin1983 reacted to Stacktastic in Is this a good price?
Thanks - yes looks very nice - im not well educated on bars outside of Scottdales, so thanks.`
want a few KG while the price is lowish. Cant see silver going anywhere near £10 for a long time - more £22-30 again.
Noticed on the European sites they are £50 more, but on a UK site its £560. https://www.buy-bullion.co.uk/product/1-kilo-coin-bar-silver-stonex/
I know Vat is charged, but it makes you wonder.
Lovely case with coin invest for £5. https://www.coininvest.com/en/capsules/1-kilo-stonex-silver-bar-case/
Decided to buy one of these. Need to rethink it tomorrow morning as I am purchasing gold today as I am unsure if its going up or down.
Just had a look for a StoneX video not much, but bloody hell look at how much metal this guy has - thought members would drool over this.
There is a few million quid in gold behind his neck - not to mention that silver doorstop to his right!!

This is happening far too often and obviously learning from previous mistakes is a struggle 😤

I know, we have been through this already with them, they added foam inserts into other coins to stop this happening.
Honestly, so outraged.
Just filmed an impromptu video to go live today, this needs to be spread far and wide.

Love the coin
HATE THE QUALITY
Honestly, how does this happen over and over and over again.
ALSO - CAPSULE OPEN ON DELIVERY.
I would ask anyone else out there if you get something like this please send me the images as I intend to send an email to Anne Jessop and the Head of Customer Services a collection of all these issues for their immediate attention.

Martin1983 reacted to Gruff in SILVER DEALS - (UK & Europe) See a deal, post it here
This is a good question and one some of us have discussed/joked about on this forum about driving to Europe and buying 1000oz bars and driving back. But on a serious note, my understanding (so I could be completely wrong here), is that if it is not jewellery then you are limited to:
Allowance for other goods
You can bring in other goods worth up to £390 (or up to £270 if you arrive by private plane or boat).
If you go over your allowance you pay tax and duty on the total value of the goods, not just the value above your allowance.
You may have to pay customs duty if you exceed your allowance.
Import VAT
You may have to pay import VAT on the total value of the goods plus duty. You pay VAT at the current UK VAT rate.
That is based on information listed in: https://www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use/print
However if you are stopped and haven't declared anything they could also assume you were trying to smuggle the goods in, in which case you are liable to forfeit all of it.
Your goods and any vehicle you use to transport them may be seized if you break the rules. You may also be fined or prosecuted.
That is based on information listed in: https://www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use
Hope that helps. I would not want to take the risk of entering with more than £390 worth of silver, just incase it was taxed or worse deemed to attempt to smuggle it in. Having said that the other thing that could be argued is that as Britannias are legal tender, would be to purchase 5000 silver Britannia's and bring them into the country as the face value does not exceed the £10,000 limit of cash in Sterling or foreign currency equivalent. But I wouldn't want to try this and I'll make the declaration this isn't sound financial advise or any serious advise.
Our resident expert on bulk purchases before the iron curtain fell on VAT free silver in the UK, is @BackyardBullion, he is extremely helpful and will probably have some better insight that me.
