info Deciding on selling prices

Recommended Posts

I am looking to offload a few duplicate pieces from my collection. These are mainly 1oz coins and a 1oz bar. How would I go about setting a price for these items? Any advice or tips, other than scrolling these threads looking to see what others are selling at?

Usually the best way, you could also check spot price compared to selling date. Eg if an item was listed for sale when spot was £1300 the price is likely different now. You could also do an auction starting bids at the lowest price you would accept, there's a quickstart guide on this forum along with some pinned posts that might help too

1. Your trader feedback is minimal, so if you are looking to sell I would expect you to sell someone with decent feedback but be prepared to be payed after the item has been received. This will increase your selling reputation.

2. The price will vary on the type, desirability of the piece whether its high premium silver and the condition.

3. People will normally comment if your piece is under priced and if you dont get responses to buy - its over priced.

4. Ask opinions of a few members  maybe by DM and find middle ground.

5. Sell all your britannias to me at spot price (joke):P

If you genuinely don't know what your pieces will sell for then you should definitely have a look at the sales thread for similar recent sales.

If you don't state what you are actually looking to sell then it's difficult to help.

Brits, Maples etc at the minute £24 each, Pamp bars £35ish, everything else somewhere in between.

Spot is down, demand is down, if you're looking to sell silver you've bought in the last 2 years you may need to sell at a loss.

You could also just list in the trade section at a price you're happy with, if you get it right they'll sell no problem, otherwise I'd just keep them.

I’m no expert but prices of around £24 an oz seem to sell. but depends on the condition and type of coin/bar. Iv also seen people sell in bundles, maybe 4 coins for £90 type thing.

It would definitely be worth stating whether these are gold, silver, palladium, etc., especially as you listed it under:

"Home  Precious Metals  General Precious Metals", but still best to specify even if you had listed it under "Home  Precious Metals  Silver"

Most TSF member seem to gave assumed thaty are silver.

Another option is to consider trading like to like in order to thin or eliminate duplicates without affecting your collection inventory count.

This also. Good shout Trozau.
