Good fish n chips Ive heard better than Blackpools

Quite probably, most is good in Scabby but I've never had a decent fish supper in Blackpool.

Never seen it encased in a Yorkshire pud though.

Sound money is not a guarantee of a free society, but a free society is impossible without sound money. We are currently a society enslaved by debt.

Can't see it working, the batter is already doing that job  and the presence of mushy peas is inviolable.

This advice warrants a commission coming my way I suggest?😛

How about blending siad fish n chips with mushy peas inside the Yorkie and a great big serving of gravy!

I lived in Scarborough for a number of years and yes, the town (well pubs😉) accepted it happily. We were always coming across Scottish notes in general use.

That comes at no surprise.

Usually, the North of England is always good at accepting Scottish notes - The Geordies have never objected my Scottish notes in my whole experience when down there. Once in Blackpool (at a bar in a hotel), a few times in other cities across the Northern part (Manchester, Leeds and York).

The hastle is too much in London, never will I take down Scottish notes again to that sh*thole.

And by the way, I am sick of McDonalds in England not having Irn Bru, its a complete disgrace! The insult is astonishing. *shakes head*

It's going to be a very tricky budget to balance when the Scottish Nationalist Party have their way.  Especially now they are promising to go green, so all that oil will stay where it is.

Yes, but they are politicians, so you don't seriously expect them to stick to promises once they are in power, surely?

An example, if I owned an original una that has recently sold for 889,000. If that had been handed down for generations and I decided to sell it.

I don't think its classed as legal tender (?) so perhaps CGT would we applicable but it wouldn't be classed as trading. Its a gift for example

I think it is legal tender, and sterling, so it should qualify for CGT exemption.

In the last 20 or so years, the economic mantra has been to simply borrow, essentially making it someone else's problem in x years time.

Not since Thatcher has a PM favoured balancing the books irrespective of the pain.

Essentially, politicians have realised that borrowing and making life easy for the electorate in the short to medium term keeps them in power.... But there will of course be a day or reckoning....as any individual knows to their cost if they cannot repay what they borrow.

Is there a greyhound track at Eton?

Sounds a bit blue collar to me, wouldn't they mainly be into horses and polo ponies?

No greyhound track, but there is a fantastic rowing lake.

You might be surprised, but the Lakeside Darts is surprisingly popular with quite a few public schoolboys.  Like most sports, people don't care where you are from or who you are, but get on when there is a shared interest.

I find this particularly with fly fishing - I fish at a lake in the Mids a few times a year and meet everyone from roofers to Judges and all are equal when fishing.  I did once meet a tax inspector, and I made an exception to my normal rules 🙂

Of course, it is a very simple and effective part of economic policy.

You as the government borrow plenty, splash it around to keep the electorate happy for long enough to get re-elected. Someone else repays it on 20 or 30 years.

Who wouldn't?

Of course they do, it's just that they borrow even more money to repay it with.

It's all perfectly legal when governments do it, but it's called a Ponzi scheme when anybody else does it.😎
