Sometimes I see gold coins with such little detail (i.e. counterfeits) advertised as 'shipwreck condition'.  This annoys me greatly as being at the bottom of the sea for hundreds of years, in most cases does not damage coins.  This serves as a superb example.....

I never realised there are so many issues one could face both buying and selling privately online these days. No wonder why people are skeptical buying from new sellers. When I first started buying on TSF I was quite pleasantly surprised that sellers send me photos of the item and the packaging before posting. Now that I started selling I learned to do the same.

Clearly fake but a newcomer could be forgiven for not knowing, from an established member.

I messaged the seller.  
 

This is what he said before pulling the listing…… He said he bought it “5 months ago from a legit seller”

I have tried getting money back from eBay when a seller has sold fake goods. Always managed it but it was a long drawn out process.
