I might consider your services Backyard Bullion when I want to convert many ounces of Gold to Fiat money as it would make financial sense. This however is such a small amount, given the cost and commissions involved so for 3 bullion sovereigns I am better off selling back to the dealer!

For a new member such as yourself, it is easier to sell a few items to established members and ship before payment is made. It is safe and that way you can build trust and feedback for the future when you may want to sell larger numbers.

You should also consider sending the coins (if a deal is agreed) and receiving payment from the buyer when they receive the coins (assuming they have a good forum reputation).

Well yes thanks  1817Karl if this is a forum based on feedback and trust then I would be prepared to send the coins prior to payment if a deal is agreed.  Should the buyer not be satisfied then they can return my items by Royal Mail special delivery. If all is well they can make the payment agreed.  This only works for me if buyer already has lots of positive feedback in the Silver Forum.

Absolutely, they need lots of good feedback. This way you will build up a reputation and feedback quickly. I have suggested this a few times to sellers with little or no feedback and they have declined, which tells me all I need to know about the new seller!

I want to build a reputation quickly.  I might be new on here but not to precious metals and I really have a passion to discuss and trade gold + silver with like minded individuals! Cheers

Being around here for a while, joining in discussions, is also a good way of gaining trust.🙂

I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I refused such an arrangement with a reputable member here who'd been happy to sell to me previously, (yet didn't leave me any feedback, despite me asking twice, because they were 'too busy'), and a few weeks later when they wanted to buy from me, they wouldn't return that trust. I quickly sold my coins to other members in a nice, polite and straightforward manner. Just because somebody says no thanks, doesn't automatically make them a wrong 'un.

I thought the feedback system wasn't working at the moment since the move to the new servers?

Works on PC.

Were you referring to mobile HT?

Hi  Guys I've learnt a little more today from above sensible advice. haven't broken my virginity on here yet 😉 ref a buy or a sell. but appreciate trust is a serious consideration. coins to date I have bought from a reputable bullion dealer and on the whole i have been more than satisfied with the service. How ever in terms of value its best to cast my net further. Must admit some of my purchases have been at ATH thats a lesson i will learn about getting caught up in the excitement at the time.

We don't have the luxury of a crystal ball my purchase at ATH may at some point in future be a wise buy.

At a future point, spot prices depending I may consider selling some of my coins on here. Getting a feeling that 2% above spot should make for a happy buyer and seller on here 👍. one thing for sure I wont be giving them to my local Gold shop who offered 7% under spot. Research is everything!! as my granny used to say look after the pennies and the £££ will look after themselves

Indeed security is an issue.  Honestly if you know the specialist coin dealers and  they WANT your particular coin,  you can get more than spot from a dealer! Especially true if they are out of stock or they know a customer to sell that exact coin onto.  Local shops that buy gold are a con! Obviously :)
