I just bought $15 worth of copper pennies on eBay for $13.50 shipped. Not too bad.

Sounds great but wouldn't the seller be losing money? It's probably $10 just to ship. I would probably spend the pennies before selling them at a loss.

I had some eBay bucks that needed to be spent before they expired. I was planning to buy some gold or silver with them but I still would've spent too much on premiums anyway. So I spent them on the pennies, which reduced it down to that price. Se we both made money on the deal.

As for gold, yesterday I went to my LCS and bought another commemorative half eagle, for $15 over spot. That's better that what I could've done on The Bay. I'm still stackin' it while I can.

1p and 2p coins were 97% copper prior to 1992 👍🏻

What the hell are they now? 😂 still thought they were copper, obviously copper look today 🤦‍♂️

Wondered why I hadn’t seen the greenish “cooper” coins for some time!

They’ ll be recycled plastic (casino tokens) next (assuming “coinage” lives that long). 🤦‍♂️ Coloured silver or gold of course 😂

Each of those heraldic coins contains just one part of the shield. Arrange them in the correct sequence and you have the whole.

That’s actually really cool. It’s so unfortunate that they’re made of scrap metal. That’d have been a great series for silver or gold.
