Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

My proof set of Libertads from Morezone, and when I pick up the second set I ordered from the sorting office I think I will make a youtube video. Originally I bought one set, then ordered a second so I could have a set for each my personal collection and my joint collection with the other half..But it has since dawned on me that both sides of Libertads are equally awesome and It will be nice to have two sets - one for each side.

Very good point. I think I need to apply that to all my purchases from now on.

Are we talking about 28 nice 1oz silver coins or a load of feathery, noisy things in the Aussie outback?

Actually I have only seen the latter in the flesh!!! They are pretty spectacular - used to see them on fences overlooking the pool in Queensland, but that is a topic for another thread. Not yet got the full set of the silver version - still working on it!

I was going to grab a few myself but it completely slipped my mind. By the time I remembered, they'd imposed a limit nf purchase qty.

Yes I believe they were minted in 1974. All minted by the royal mint with permission from the respective governments. I think there were 12 in total that year and some the next year. They are pretty much perfect and look brand new except for the rhino which has slight fingerprints (it's my favourite). They go for a lot more than I paid on eBay.

There were a few stalls there from the embankment fair as it was off this week. It was mostly expensive old stuff - a lot of Roman etc and £1k - £3k sovereigns etc, but there was stuff here and there I picked up a 2008 Brit and a 1983 proof pound coin at a reasonable price too.
