Belarus Year of the Sheep.

I bought it at the start of September and it got as far as Heathrow then got sent back to Belarus. The seller resent it and it arrived quick time.

No pics as it's too shiny.

Yeah, I like it. The touches of colour don't make it feel like a coloured coin. Less sure about the gem in the middle.

It's hard to make the background look correct in the photos. It's not black, it's shiny.

Not quite sure which is obverse/reverse but I like the side showing the monetary denomination it reminds me of the 10oz Kook evolution series.

1887 double sovereign from HGM

 

To me it looks a lot like the William sovereign I had that you guys all thought was dodgy, because it's quite shiny with a lot of little scratches that make it look dimpled. What do you guys think? 

 

 

 

Also a 2005 proof sov which is a beaut (sorry about the poor photo)

Decided to make my gold:silver ratio a bit more sensible, or even existant - went for an 1895 and 1897 half sovereign.  I think I paid a pretty fair amount for them - about a fiver more per coin for the older date?

Hi Stretch - I thought you were a gold fan? I know the feeling - getting drawn to silver numi and proofs (Libertads my fav, and I feel the need to buy some kooks),, but I know I should really be buying gold!

I'am a gold fan yes but only discovered vat free silver in August so I'm now keen to stack plenty silver too. At least till my gold and silver values are roughly even.

I choose the crocs because now I do have a few tubes of most of the cheap coins and crocs were only a little more expensive. I have since noticed that STG has changed their premiums as the spot fell the crocs haven't gone down in price as much as other coins.

Plenty of reasons to stack silver but one of mine is a hedge against gold confiscation which I think is a realistic possibility when the monetary system and welfare state collapse and gold is remonetised.
