Someone or some many fixing the prices to go lower in order to buy or hold the currencies higher or to pump up in order to sell at a higher rate..,the way the world economy is going right now the need is to buy gold...buti f you let the market dictate the price its going to go mad...so the hfts or high frequency trading computers put in ghost or phantom orders to sell or buy without following through, they cancel the order just before its logged but the predictive hfts have it logged for not even a second and the market price shifts as it would when a large purchase or sale occurs...this then gives the hft or other hfts linked to it the ability to hbuy or sell at a manipulated price....they can sell for more or buy for less.

They can place another order to buy or sell and not follow through, this can keep the price going up or down...its not something they can do all day but enough times to steer the market higher, lower or keep it stagnant...if the market had to show the amount of phantom trades at the same time as trading goes on wed see with our own eyes the sheer amount of price fixing going on and if they listed the amount from each bank and investment houses trades that are cancelled in milliseconds wed know who is manipulting the market.
 
Ghost tradesor phantom trades dont always happen to pump or dump, they can be to create enough of a ripple that they make millions or billions on the small shivers the prices make when the phantom orders are put in then cancelled

I very much appreciated the advice taken from a Forum member I have much respect of prior to making the purchase: ‘Rich,  the Reverse is a little bit Marmite’. But who could deny that the Machin Obverse is an enduring classic.
What I like about this particular set is its completeness- Sovereigns untouched and sealed in the presentation case, COA, original invoice for £388.50! and even the little waxed envelope the Jeweler supplied it in!

The Forum is the still the best place to buy and sell PM's from established long term members. I recently sold Gold (generic bullion) at 2% above spot on the forum and was sold in less than 30 minutes. Under normal circumstances I would try to sell on the Forum for spot but considering dealers are no longer selling for their usual spread of 3% and the best dealer price I could find was 5% above spot I moved my sale price accordingly in line with the general market.
Also been selling Silver on eBay (the best deal always be on The Silver Forum) I am purposefully charging anywhere between 15-25% more on eBay to cover eBay/PayPal fees and the seller taking risk of no insurance with PMs (unless Special Delivery) and the loss associated with the parcel could go missing in the system (not had one yet but I am hedging it will).
Over last few years I have seen certain pieces of PMs only appearing for sale on The Silver Forum and it has been great to see. If you have only recently joined please be aware these are some crazy times and price discovery up in the air. Need to restart the global economy get back to normal circumstances (god only knows how long that will take) before premiums both dealers and private seller charging returns back to normal.

That is a very short term viewpoint. Things change and are fluid, you just have to deal with it. You have to realise that the last 3 weeks, while you have been a TSF member,  have been almost unprecedented. Well, probably in the memory of over 95% of members on here, anyway. I have been on this forum for about 6 years and it has been true that most of the time, the forum has always had fantastic deals and has been the best place to buy your PM. It depends what you want to buy; sometimes sovereign deals are here, sometimes silver. It has always varied.
It seems that maybe you have come to this forum in the hope of getting mega bargains when they are none to be had elsewhere, and you are a bit peeved they aren't here?😉

How can you make such a definite statement. 
you joined the forum since things got hectic (2 weeks ago) Since prices have started to spike. 
 
i am a new member too. When I joined you could easily find loads of stuff at spot (seldom under spot but you shure have to be extremly quick). Since 3 weeks things got a bit more complicated as supply and demand are shifting. 
 
IMHO you should always think twice before making definite statements. 
 
sorry but from my point of view, no promotional thing about the fact that the forum is the best place to buy.
