With my daughter’s fascination, adoration, and love of animals, coupled with her preference for silver over gold (at least for now!😆)...I picked up the entire six Osborne Mint, partnering with Anonymous Mint, Lisa Parker Collection in 5 oz Silver Antiqued rounds, with a mintage of 250!!


First in the series, Moonstruck...

Fourth, Apache...

Fifth, Power of Three...

And last, sixth, Snow Kisses...
Each round presents with the reverse side, the Wild One design!

Unfortunately not. The size is the same (21mm) as well as the composition (.900), but it weights a little bit more - 6.78g. The same as Austro-Hungarian Corona coins from the same time period.

This week i received the shared top 1911 MS64 20 Bolivares. Particularly happy since this is now the second coin of this variant in my possession.

Picked up this well loved Cyprus Half Sovereign. It’s a low mintage coin that was issued as the first independent gold coin after British left. 

Some pretty amusing comments indeed. Always find it interesting when something is brought to someone’s attention and they instantly have a opinion based on no fact or information.

I added better and more comparable pictures but admittedly on coins with some more wear the berries would be the easiest way to distinguish these.

Today I received my 1904 $20 liberty head double eagle from Atkinson's.
Here's my collection of pre-1933 US gold and silver.

Copper & Silver Aztecs courtesy of @SilverStan.  Australia Shillings & Pesos from @MikeSol- and the little South American dodgers are from a tat shop- the Columbian isn’t Silver but the pretty portrait makes up for it. 

My first purchase of 2020 courtesy of @AgD a lovely tube of ASE - 12x2016, 4x2017, 2x2018, 1x2015 and 1x2011 all in great condition.

Incidentally that's me now broke the 200oz mark for my little stack!! Took me a year or so but got there in the end......much more to come 😁

I just wanted to alert you that there are forgeries out there. In specific the 1911 20 Bolívares from Venezuela:


While these forgeries have the appearance of lustrous and uncirculated coins, they seem to be minted from a copy die of a very specific version of the 1911 coin
(dot closer to 1 rather than centred between 1 and L – undocumented)
Especially the reverse is struck off centre and under magnification it will become clear that the letters and numbers of the legend are very weak and mushy:


I have seen two coins on eBay – one in the US and one in Spain. Typically the seller will have low magnification or resolution pictures to mask the shortcomings of the forgery; in terms of weight and size these coins will pass but they are definitely not worth any premium over spot (I haven’t tested the alloy).
