commercial dealers are not trading right now, most of them don't accept orders, some of them accept orders but don't dispatch your order until the restrictions are lifted and that is not good enough, whereas if you buy gold from the forum you will get  the coin delivered to you very quickly, that is why coins are being sold at high prices and they go quickly too because you can't find any gold out there, simple as that.

People just like series. QB has been popular mainly because it’s a bit different to the several lunar varieties and it’s actually a short and quick series being released twice a year.
Also Royal mint is arguably one of the most if not the most popular mint for collectors. The premiums you speak of only exist because people are willing to pay the high premium to back date their collection and try to complete a full set. I know thats what i did when i had to pay £1300 for the lion and £1250 for the griffin. Seems very cheap now lol.
Personally i think some of the premiums will die after the series is completed. I know some people thought perhaps this series would sky rocket if anything happened to our dear queen and we changed monarch mid set, but there’s one coin left and I don’t see her going anywhere soon.

Where do you come up with this c**p from?
Some of the gold bullion QBs have mintages in the 5k range current bullion for Britannias of the same size in a year can run over 100k...

I was genuinely trying to be helpful to you.
There is absolutely no need for you to come back with your sarcastic drivel.
Your tone is offhand, unfriendly and frankly rude and I think an apology is due.
When threads are this long, sometimes you miss something small but important- I know I do and it’s often helpful if someone points it out.

1939 Proof Victoria Shield - PR62 (en medaille) - It is believed that the coins stuck in medal alignment match the Una and lion and therefore are from the coronation set.
This coin is undergraded in my opinion, I've got another PR62 that is nowhere near as nice as this, and seen other that are verging on "manky" and still got a PR62. It was obviously graded some time ago due to the old label

I bought this beautiful Marianne Rooster restrike from @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer to serve as my “lucky coin” during the coronavirus pandemic. The Marianne bust on the obverse was designed by Jules-Clément Chaplain, a French sculptor, who was one of France’s finest medalists. With Louis-Oscar Roty he helped found the Art Nouveau movement.

We have bought in a few Douro sovereigns, including at least one which had been marketed by The Royal Mint.
If this link works, there are some photos of Douro sovereigns, a CD, and a bottle of port:

I have a couple that have been graded by NGC.

I think I remember reading that there was the initial Spink disposal, and then a secondary disposal from the salvors share of the coins.

When I looked into this before, I remember that lots of the Douro coins slabbed by NGC have very close grading numbers.
I am not a an expert on serial numbers of slabbed coins but my guess is that NGC may have received a large number to be graded.

Mine are AU58 and MS60 and the serial numbers were not close to lots of those that I have seen go through auction / on sale.

Anyone know if this might be the case?

I've had a couple of Douro sovs but decided not to keep them I thought as the provenance would become difficult as time went on. Mine didn't come with a certificate but were bought from the person who purchased them from the Spink auction with a receipt which obviously included the lot number. I was able to check the coins against the auction catalogue but didn't think this was something that could be relied upon long term.
