Shinus73 got a reaction from Tn21 in Gold Vs Pension
I just view my physical gold / silver holdings as an alternative pension.
I have an old final salary pension which will be worth £4-5 thousand per year, a SIPP, precious metals and whisky.
They're all my pension.

Shinus73 got a reaction from LemmyMcGregor in Atkinsons paying 10% over spot for silver coins
It's indicative of something, as 10% over spot is unheard of.

…and more people would be able to afford the one bedroom house than the two bedroom house when you come to sell.

I'd love it to be real, and would benefit greatly, but I've been reading about this cup and handle since about 2012. The handle will be as big as the cup before long.
On a related note, why would the price fluctuations of a commodity be more likely to take the shape of a cup and handle, than say a pair of glasses, or some car keys? Always felt like random gibberish to me.

Not quite comparing apples with apples though, you don’t have the option of buying 1/4 of a house.
I’m not saying don’t buy gold as it rises, I’m saying there will be fewer buyers of full ounces when you look to sell.

Shinus73 got a reaction from AaaGee in 10x 2023 1oz Gold Britannias - King Charles
Very few people currently have £1600 to spare - I think it's that simple.
Disposing of 1 oz coins quickly will be a growing problem if gold continues to rise.
