So these Portuguese silvers arrived today. Not my usual kind of thing buy by my criteria I have to collect them (any world coin containing silver, from 1800 onwards, designated as circulating commemorative or standard circulation on numista).
These coins were clearly not designated for circulation and have never been spent or used other than by collectors for collecting. There are also loads more I need to get too.
Thinking of changing my criteria as I don't really have an interest in collecting modern commem coins (aka tat). Any suggestions appreciated. 
Some of them are quite pretty so I've shared those. 😕

World gold coins next , I tried to buy some from a well known dealer but they couldn't be arsed to even get back to me.

Had two bargain pickups this week, first was this British India 1942 dated 1/2 Rupee struck from .500 silver, these were only made by one mint in 1942 and of only one variety (no different edges/sizes of bust etc), the coins have the security edge which I really like, this is an upgrade in condition from another I had.
This type of coin was made from 1942 to 1945.
61,600,000 were made in 1942 by the Bombay mint.
 


 
 
Next up is a British 1932 dated 3 pence, struck from .500 silver, this coin had a mintage of 5,887,300 in this year and this design was used from 1927 to 1936.
This one is a bit puzzling for me, the coin appears to have nearly all its original mint lustre yet the tops of two of the knobbly parts of the acorns look slightly flattened, I only usually see this on quite worn circulated coins, so not sure if its a weak strike or possibly bag damage, but any information is most welcome.


 

My first Belgian 5 franc
A pretty nasty chap but a lovely coin nevertheless. 
These large European silvers have to be the most addictive coins to start collecting- such nice size and high silver purity and can be picked up just over spot!
 

I am really hating the premium and spot values at the moment. Getting harder to source deals , haven’t bought much lately to add to the stack. When these Mexican beauties rolled in had to grab them though.
