If you're just after bullion sovs etc then dealers are close to spot, however if you want a proof libertad or panda or fractional gold then I've never seen a dealer offer anywhere close to spot. On here this week I've seen people selling 1/20 proof panda for near spot, buffalos and 1oz pandas at spot, libs at spot etc.
If I'm looking to go and buy a few bits just for stacking then I'd go to a dealer and strike a deal, but if I want something with more numismatic premium then I think here is generally better.

Well I wish them all the luck in the world trying to find it  .  Sovereigns being the tiny little coins that they are make them extremely easy to hide in a wide variety of ingenious places.

I would never, ever risk my money to buy "gold" that is stored somewhere else, that I will never see. Sorry. Just physical for me.

whilst I do find posts quoting prices as spot (+ a percentage) confusing and less straight forward than just picking a price a sticking to it, I am curious as to how offering a free coin is hideous 😂

Good analogy and true, but I guess when gold is as high as it is every man and his dog are trying to cash in and throwing in a free coin might help differentiate oneself.

It just makes me think  "please buy me"
