  1. Thanks for that Essendie.

I still buy silver the Australian lunar series, but just cannot get hold of the 5 0z coins.

I also buy  pre 1920 and pre 1947 now and again.

I di buy two full sovereigns a while back at £312 each, but it is getting a tad expensive.

Good luck with your stacking/collecting for 2023.

    Cheers

    Keith.

  2. Yes gold is a bit to expensive for me now, but that said I am in  a good place as i have around 25 oz of the yellow stuff with an average price per ounce of £800.

aaaarrrggg bitcoin yes if ONLY you are right back then it was around $200-300 a coin, many a time I have done the maths and thought if only.

What did I say back then if you can't hold it you don't own it, older now but maybe not wiser.

    Keith

  3. Just received some bits from the USA a 2 oz Niue Turtle, ( this is a really nice coin to hold).

    5 1 oz .45 calibre bullets.

1 Come and take it round.

1 Bulls and the Bears for my share dealing when I am undecided!!!

Also picked up from my local supplier, 4 half crowns, and 5 proof coins 10 years of the bank of Sierra Leone but gave two each to the two boys as stocking fillers.

  4. Just hit a major milestone stone today, over the 1kg fine weight in gold :)

Current stack total is now 1002g or 32.23oz

    This month Ive grabbed -

    1/10 Britannia

    1/10 Krugerand

    1/10 Guernsey double

    1890 full sov

    1913 Prussia 20 Mark

    1909 20 Franc

Now just ordered up an Austrian 100 Corona from Atkinson's tipping me over the edge -

Will add some real pics when it gets delivered (hopefully tomorrow)

Well done you have just pipped me I am 3 full sovereigns short of the magical 1kg.

  5. HH

OK so here are the two RM proof horses.

I can see the brown dots with the naked eye but they don't stand out too much (depending on how you tilt the coin).  I was considering flipping one but it may be better to wait until a couple more in the series are released.  The resale of non-perfect coins does concern me but I still think these were good value.

    HH

    Where are they from!!!!

  6. Another 1912 full sov and 1901 half sov to add to the stack -

    Update full stack pic -

    30.29 oz gold

    3.9g Palladium

    5.89g Platinum

60oz of silver Pamp Suisse bars

I am also in a similar position as you are, currently at 29.5 oz of gold so tantalizingly close to the BIG 1kg. But my silver stack is at 2259.56 oz.

I also have only one 5oz Pamp bar they are very very nice.

  7. Pulled the trigger tonight on an STG silver order:

Tube of 25 1 oz 2015 Canadian Maples (bullion - for the stack, at £12.63 each)

Tube of 20 1 oz 2015 Kookaburras (can't wait to see these, looks a great design, and the 25th anniversary etc)

Single 10 oz 2015 Koala and Kookaburras

Finally - a 1 kg Kookaburra. Call me crazy - but this looks so much more fun than a generic 1 kg bar, and the price is so much better!

That might be it for silver for 2015 now......apart from some shiny NZ collectors stuff that is on its way also!

Let's see if my timing was good or stupid...

I am sure there will be something to temp you later in the year. :)

  8. Just received this lunar horse proof from an eBay seller in the US, advertised as " in excellent condition with no toning or milk spots noted". I'd appreciate your opinions.

    Thanks Paul

Yes I agree there appears to be some spot mark on the coin or are they n the plastic cover!!!

Not in the best of conditions.
