@freefall yes it was pretty much a stepping stone to do more research and find other voices to further my knowledge and understanding, plus he wasn't trying to sell a product like many other commentators.

@freefall said...My initial fascination with gold started when I was a kid. Like many households we always had an Argos or Index catalogue lying around that I would flick through when I was bored. As you would expect I spent a lot of time looking at all the toys but it was the jewellery section that really caught my eye.
When I was a kid  Argos/Littlewoods catalogue's was use to look at the ladies underwear section.
As a child pawn/jewelry shops always got my attention, I could never pass one without looking at all the shiny metal things... I loved stories/films about pirates and buried treasure.
I remember digging in the a vacant council house front garden hoping to find  treasure. I even believed that there was a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I was very gullible. I still am.
As an adult it all got forgotten about and precious metals/jewelry never played a part of it. Working - mortgage family- going out was the norm. All that changed when I watched a News program with this crazy guy called Max Keiser  talking about Gold/silver and this new thing called bitcoin. It took me right back to my childhood days, who'd have thought them shiny PM's had such an amazing and important role in history.
One day I might be that pirate who sails off into the sunset with the treasure the girl and the wind at my back.🤪.

i have been remiss in not up dating this thread especially when quite a lot has been going on.
There is an interesting video series to look at and learn about the Kinesis money system, with a little test after each video.

Another 20K+ KVT's going through this morning on etherscan.io - not appearing on the kinesis.money website yet. So $180 millioon raised now. Plenty of fuel to grow the reach of the coins. It also tell me there are so decent sized partners putting their money where their mouths are and investing more than pocket change.
Correction - another 10k have been pushed through, so 30k today and counting...
There are 210k to go at so with 190k and counting sold that only leaves 20k left - we will be near a sellout by the end.
pps - more appearing - so i will do a tot up this afternoon when it has calmed down.

    Basically, yes.
Until you hold a lot of it and you see swings of £1000 plus every day. Then you don't sleep so well.
It's human nature to convert those those swings into (worthless) goods.
I have my 'gurus' on the forum and I'm advised to hold, so I will.

i fully expect a return to some sort of gold backed currency system. We can see it in Asia. Governments buying gold at unprecidented levels as they move away from the USD. i hear plenty of rumours about the Chinese and Russians backing their currencies and State cryptocurrencies. i am involved in Kinesis which Indonesia is fully onboard with and is making it 'obligatory' to save in Kinesis and so save in gold.
There is a new dawn for precious metals. i will not be sitting on my hands - i will be more active than ever before. i see the selling section is very active like it gets when prices get high - it won't be a seller. i understand those who are selling - we have seen false dawns before and it was a prudent move to take some profits but not today i think. When the going gets tough, gold gets going. Recessions are good for real money - even deflation when the buying power of currency goes up in the face of falling asset prices. Gold initially fell in 2008 as we saw distressed sales and the necessity to liquidate assets to bail out crumbling paper asset positions. Then we saw QE gear up and the run up to 2011.
Have you noticed how gold gets a smack down and then quickly comes back - it wasn't like that before - we would have seen prices tumble for months. The world is changing. Gold is coming out of the shadows - we have seen the dawn of a golden age.

It is a very tough call at the moment.
My advice is to hold tight and see what happens if you don’t need the cash. If you do then sell and make some profit.

A plea to you all: sit on your hands.
We stand on the breakout of what will very likely be one of the greatest bull markets of our lifetime. Think about what has happened over the last 10 years: unprecedented level of stimulus into a monetary system that is no longer fit for purpose. This is much worse than the abuse of the system that drove the prior PM bull markets of 1971-1980 and 1999-2011.
The fallout from this crazy experiment will drive the price of gold by similar factors over the next decade, just as it did during the previous bull markets. Bull markets always run longer and further than nearly all their early adopters think is possible.
PMs will be valued many multiples higher in the years to come. Scoot on over to a "mainstream" investment site like MrMoneyMustache or MoneysavingExpert and gold doesn't even figure on the radar. They are ALL about passive index funds and chasing the stock market. They worship VTSAX. If you are lucky you might find someone holding 20% bonds. They won't even look at gold until it has at least doubled from current levels, and even then they will be some of the earlier adopters.
There will come a time to sell your PMs and buy something that is better value, but that time is still years away. It will be when everyone thinks it is a good time to be overweight on gold, when Dow/Gold is somewhere between a half to a quarter of its current level.

This is from a webinar last Friday. The sound is pretty poor - the issue of doing webinars when the members of the team are in hotel rooms around the world.
The main takeaway is no delays to the launch. There will be a hard wallet but no details given. Expanded on the extent of the Indonesian deals - this will be the template other countries - i can see this being rolled out for SE Asia, Africa, Middle East and South/Central America. Indonesia today - Malaysia tomorrow.
Being the sort of mindset i am, words like Smart Cities, are Agenda 2030 - i will have to take my Kinesis loot and go to District 1 (Hunger Games).

There is such a mix of connections there - there are 4 separate deals as i understand it. As you will be aware the Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad spoke of developing a new "special currency" for the East Asia region based on gold. Malaysia and Indonesia are neighbours.
    So Kinesis has agreements with
The Indonesian post office - the post office is used to arrange a lot of money transfers which will now go through Kinesis.
The National Commodities Exchange - which we knew about.
A joint venture with a vaulting provider. - this implies vaulted gold with a third party will be introduced into the Kinesis currency system, so boosting the number of coins - it also provide another vaulting system outside the Cabal.
Nahdlatul Ulama (100+ million-member religious organization) - so this provides 100+ plus Muslim potential users in a Sharia compliant currency system (when the neighbouring Muslim country's PM has given a big thumbs up to a gold currency for East Asia)
Technology providers - the system needs the technology in place to be adopted - i am not aware what this is but this is vital to the system.
Governmental approval and facilitation makes the whole process easier and more likely to be maximally successful.
