  1. Hello,

When I was collecting  1 oz Bars I could not find a purpose made display box, but I eventually bought the following a couple of times from Amazon.

H&S Glass Lid 100 Ring Jewellery Display Storage Box

They have the disadvantage of having to cut the felt to take the bars, but this is not difficult and enables the cut out  to accommodate slight variations in the size of the bars. The glass lid is a bonus.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Hello

Having been out of commission for some time, having disposed of all of my silver on the Forum, I cannot get the bug out of my system.

Do you think I am a little naïve in contemplating a 1 Kilo Britannia at about £1k,the premium does seem a little high compared  to smaller coins?

The coin will probably end up with my great grand daughter in due course. I wanted a Panda or Pig coin but they seem to be rare animals.

I realise that there is no definitive answer to this question but any comments would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  3. Hello James

    Thank you for your interest.

I fancied a pig as it is for my Great granddaughter who is a little obsessed with pigs. A Panda would be perfect as well.

I was a premium member of the Forum for some years but reverted to standard  as I sold all of my collection (due to age!) so I don't see the SF offers before they are gone now.

  4. I felt that the following may be of interest!

I bought an item from a well known Auction house and this was the result.

    Bid and purchase £18.00

    Premium                £7.20

    Internet charge     £1.26

    Postage                 £24.99

    Total cost               £51.45

Total Charges £33.45 for an £18 item.

I won't be doing that again!

Thanks again . As you say the Forum is the place to buy and sell - it was always a rewarding experience and it also kept me in touch during the lockdowns, which was very beneficial.

I am still feeling sad about my collection going - it took me a long time to put it together and I really enjoyed it. It's left a bit of a hole in my life, but disposal was really the only sensible thing for me. I don't think I made a lot of profit from the sales - I made some mistakes but it gave me a lot of pleasure in my old age!

    Thanks again

  6. Thank you for your good wishes.

I decided to sell the silver as I am getting old and in poor health - I did not wish to leave my family with the task of selling quite a comprehensive collection.

I think they would have reverted to an auction house or EBay- at a cost!, and I hope some members got a good deal.

    The Koalas are being stubborn!

  7. Hello

I have sold a few of my 10 oz Queens Beasts and I now need to sell the rest.

Could anyone please give me a realistic selling price for the Lion and Griffin which, I believe , command a premium?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Frank

  8. Hello

I really need to sell my Queens Beasts Collection (10 x 10 oz Boxed) and my 8 x 10 oz Koalas (2008-2015).

Your suggestions on a reasonable asking price would be most appreciated.

I would be willing to split the Koalas.

    Thank you

    Frank
