Ok, in that one I can see they've used the wrong font.
How many years experience do I need before I can spot these things?

Thelonerangershorse got a reaction from dicker in The Start Of My New Kookaburra Collection
I used to have a collection of 10oz kooks, very nice coins, had to dump them all last year due to the CGT situation.

Actually, I can well imagine the gold market in parts of NI is as large as the rest of mainland UK.

Best tax advice I've seen was a tweet by an american woman,
My 6 year old asked how tax works, so I gave him a large bag of M&M's and said "now you have to give me some back, but I'm not going to tell you how many, and if you get the answer wrong, you go to prison"

Thelonerangershorse got a reaction from slack in Which sovereigns to buy?
My plan also, 1oz coins are a big chunk of money and in a couple of years I see this getting much worse so sticking with 1/4's, sovs, half sovs and 1/10's if I see them without a massive premium.
May be tempted by some crowned silver brits if I see some at a reasonable price.

Thelonerangershorse got a reaction from Dobber in 2023 Coronation King Charles III and Queen Camilla Gold Sovereign
And yet having seen the cipher design, a 1/4 was my first choice, then checked Atkinsons, Chards and even the royal mint only to find it didn't exist. If it hadn't been for a BYB youtube video it would have been a total secret. Just seems a very strange way to run a business.

If the coronation is the cheapest availiable new coin then when you come to sell then either it has a premium and you're a winner, or it's still just bullion and you haven't lost.

Thelonerangershorse got a reaction from Dobber in Half Sovereign or 6oz of Siver?
If you're planning to stack for the long term, I'd say the half sov. if you just buy 1 a month then in a year, 12 half sovs will fit easily in the palm of your hand, 72 brits is just short of 3 tubes and 2.5kg.
