To rule out any confusion, as a rule I don't like rules. But as the ruler of this thread I can make exceptions.

At the end of the day, start the auction at the minimum one wants and there be none of this cancelling after just one bid.
This is not the way to run an auction.    I was going to make a bid, but after what had previously be written about wanting to pull the auction, it was apparent to all to not bother.

It's reported in FT and elsewhere that the EU is to confiscate Russia's asset to arm Ukraine. Should that be the case, Russia will retaliate by confiscating EU assets in Russia. Tit-for-Tat and no one can be trusted in the financial world. Hence, gold rallied ?

    Great present @SheepStacker
I gave a bar as a wedding present, another as a birth gift for baby, as opposed to birthday, & a lovely nugget for a 60th.
these very well presented bars are ideal .
    nice one .
and my wife got a bar of rhodium , palladium, platinum & gold across 4 gift cycles in 2014-15. Before some of them went ££ crazy . PM gifts are worthwhile and enduring … though my kids think I am mad 👹

PR basics, don't give an answer, give a time when you will give an answer. Might forget or something more important come along. Works for project estimation at work as well. Don't say how long it will take, say when you will know how long it will take.

I have been building a collection of half sovereigns for many years now. A significant coin that I have always had an eye out for is a 1918-P. Marsh has this as an R3 with a ‘not known’ mintage figure, but the experts estimates are set at around 250. PCGS also notes the mintage as 250.
So to find one in mint state in an old antique shop at a good price was, I think, a once in a lifetime event. In fairness, I explained to the shop owner that their price was ridiculous and talked through what I would be willing to pay. I had to sell bullion to cover the costs but in the end the shop owner and I were happy. For me karma is important and part of buying and selling coins is honesty and integrity.
To get the grade back as MS64 was a significant moment for me. Especially as I had only recently bought a NGC example in MS63 that I had been planning on sending for cross over. No need now!
The coin arrived yesterday via FedEx and I am overjoyed to have this join the collection.

Recent US debt of near $35 trillion will at a typical average real rate of 6%/year increase, in ten years time will be 1.06^10 = 1.79 times larger in real terms, stand at more than $62 trillion. As in another ten years on from that it might stand at $112 trillion. Equally however it possibly stood at a 1 / 1.79 = 0.56 smaller level ten years earlier. Either way and tax revenues/spending etc. will be multiples times larger (smaller in backward looking direction).
In 1960 US debt was $286 billion, so has grown 122 fold in 63 years, at a 7.9% annualised nominal rate. Inflation over the same period around 2.7% annualised.
The US system puts a cap on debt expansion, so the government have to periodically go to congress to ask for the debt ceiling to be increased - as a backstop to prevent any one government over-doing it.
That wont fail (excepting some exceptional circumstances) even though it seems like debt is at highs and only growing at rates that some mistakenly belief will result in failure.

We can confirm it is NOT blood, or nailpolish as suggested🤣 - It appears the coin that we took the image of, has some natural toning.

Never do this with a proof coin ............. This works a total charm on silver bullion coins, it does not effect the XRF reading on a 999 silver coin, it will effect 958 silver as it does contain silver.
For fun you can silver plate a 2p coin and it will read 4% silver on a XRF machine.

Makes any silver bullion coin no matter how bad look like new, there is a knack to getting this right as its very easy to get swirl marks on the coins if you are not careful.

A 'wanted' listing is still a trade listing. And they should be posted in the trade section of the forum, not the discussion area that you posted your last two listings in.
