Its a replacement COA, that's what the R stands for.
Someone had the set and it either came without a COA or they lost it, they requested a replacement and they got 00002R, meaning they were the second person to ask for a replacement COA

I picked up the Royal Mint 1996 Silver Anniversary Set at a well known London coin fair this morning. Nothing particularly special with the price paid being exactly what I would have expected. I got the set home and upon closer inspection it seems I have Certificate of Authenticity Number 00002. I also note there is the letter ‘R’ after the number. Can any of our numismatics experts elaborate and make me perhaps dream of going to da moon? (I suspect I know the answer but why not ask). Also, what is the significance of the ‘R’ after the number? Regardless, a very nice set purchased for a very fair price 😃

I've decided to buy my first bit of gold in the New Year when I'm back in the office, so I expect the gold price will rise for the next two weeks then mysteriously dip just afer I've purchased.

A 2022 memorial sovereign with QEII on it would indeed be worth a fortune. They should all have KCIII on the obverse.

It may be along time before you need to worry about cgt on them!! Lol

Gold definitely shows up as different from any other materials on Airport X-rays.
Twice I have travelled with 1oz Gold coins and they want to know what they were at security.  Once they knew what they were they couldn’t care less.  

Ceasefire over, broken by Hamas refusal to release further hostages...  South Gaza next in the sights...  But the likely hood of spread to the rest of the region is now seen as low.  Others don't have the stones for it basically.  I don't think any of the PM rise now is related to mid east tensions.  It's back to financial forces.
