RedBirds reacted to Nowhereman in Gold sovereign old colour (silver mix) vs new colour (copper mix)
Hello stackers, collectors and fans of PM's. Gold Sovereigns have always bothered me, I first bought one to commemorate the birth of my first daughter back in 2008 and was so disappointed in the colour. I did the same for my second daughter and it was the same shiny penny colour that I loved as a kid at Christmas but was very un-gold like.
So when I started stacking and collecting gold I favoured the 24K 9999 varieties as they satisfied that primal desire that true gold inspires and avoided Sovereigns like the plague.
I did however recently buy a 2022 jubilee sovereign because I liked the design and then a 1958 and 63 Gillick sovereign because they just looked like gold. When compared side by side the difference in the 22K alloy is so pronounced (Apologies for the photo quality)
Apparently the alloy was changed from a silver mix to a copper mix back in 2000 and my 3 questions for discussion are : Who prefers the old colour to the new colour?
Can the mint be petitioned to revert to the old mix?
Have I missed something? (I have only done a surface level Google search so quite probably).

RedBirds reacted to Orpster in Today I Received.....
Anything of this age that does not return a details grade would cover the costs of grading as a minimum, likely mid-AU on that I should think, maybe mid-high, so yes very much worth it

1820 sovereign in beautiful condition unsure whether it’s worth grading. Not an expert on numismatics so wouldn’t mind an honest second opinion. Definitely VF - EF possibly. May not look the best on these photos

RedBirds reacted to Alexz in Lunar 3 coins
I have the following Perth Mint lunar 3 coins for sale:
1 ounce mouse (2020) with privy harvest (mintage only 5237) 50 euro
1 ounce tiger (2022) 35 euro
2 ounce tiger (2022) colored 95 euro
The capsules have little scratches, the coins are in perfect condition.
Shipping is from the Netherlands. The shipping costs vary, for most West European countries it will be 17 euro for an insured package.
Shipping without insurance is cheaper but the risk is for the buyer.

RedBirds reacted to Colnago in Vienna Philharmonic 2018 Silver Coins
I’m willing to put up 5oz of silver bullion to go towards the members who got took on.
There must be enough good eggs on here to ensure those who lost out get at least some bullion.. Perhaps @BackyardBullion could be the intermediary for those who wish to donate?

Good afternoon, today I am showing the first issue of the Chess Crown, this consists of 8x 1oz silver stacks from South Korea in a huge capsule. Very nicely done and I really wanted to own a copy of it as proof. The piece in question is the pawn. Greetings from Maxe.
