I once had a Brit come through with Liz having a goatee. I would say 1 in 5 of my Britt's went milky, maples are the worst, silver eagles are the best, never had a bad one. After years of collecting I don't tend to go 999 any more apart from collection for kids.

It's pot luck to an extent. I believe some are minted here and some abroad (?) and there's no way to tell what you'll get. Some tubes are trash and some remain nice.
A good bet are the specials like the Orientals, never had a problem with those.
    And yes it sucks

Sounds like quality control accidentally dunked it in their glass of milk, instead of their digestive biscuits!

You can get unlucky, I have a standard bullion Silver 1oz Little John that is a strange shade... kind of like the whole thing is milk spotted... or milk blobbed.

I've been into PM's for a few months now and have had quite a few Silver Brits. Personally i haven't had single one with milk spotting. A little tarnishing on some older ones, however. Maples on the other hand...........not so lucky.
I think to get your first Brit like that is just a bit unlucky.

Please, my new 1oz silver Britannia looks awful. It's like a horse decided to bite the obverse, then proceeded to orgasm over it, it's ridiculously milky.

Are you trying to get me into more trouble than I can manage on my own?

Just saw this email. What month was the 2022 Sovereign released? Because I imagine that's still selling really well.

I think it's the 2023 Britannia, Bullion by post had 2023 Britannia's listed "estimated stock date is 11/10/22", which has since been removed.

Unlimited mintages for most of the smaller coins until 31st December - so no point rushing to get one. Unless you're after 5oz or 10oz Silver or Gold over 1 oz... Not despatching til late January 2023 either...

    Hi all,
I'm new to this - as in I've never been in a queue on the RM website before. RM say:
Between Monday, 3 October 2022 and Saturday, 31 December 2022, the following coins will not be subject to a Maximum Coin Mintage (MCM):
Each edition of the UK £5 and 50p Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated coins One ounce platinum, one ounce gold and one ounce silver Proof coins Quarter-ounce gold Proof coin In light of this, is there any point in queuing given that the mintage limits will only be set after everyone has had an opportunity to buy what they want? It's a genuine question as I'm green about the gills and may be missing something very obvious!

Yes, I prefer the young head plus shield reverse design by some distance, and there are plenty of examples around, though those Q.V. sovereigns do seem to attract a premium..

Was browsing for a half sovereign and found est1897 selling Victoria shield half sovereigns for £210. Much lower than other places, yet their full sovs and normal date half sovereigns are pricier than the usual bullion dealers
