Today is look at treasure Sunday....... my boat might sink soon...... 

Happy 2nd Anniversary to me! Nice to see it all together again (if only for a brief photo op)
Added just over 4.2oz of bullions to last years 7.5oz plus a proof 1/2 2022 Sov so happy with that.
Still need to work on getting my first 1oz coin thou!!

Interesting to have these strategies/preferences if you can afford them, and you obviously can, but I suspect most TSF members are less ambitious. 

I’ve often referred to ‘plastic coffins’ myself, only because I don’t do grading and prefer to keep proofs in their original capsules.
My ‘core’ bullion is split between sovereigns and 1oz gold, but 1/4 size proofs I find more enjoyable to collect now. Over the years I’ve collected almost everything, like betting on every runner in a horse race perhaps, but not for money!

As I’m already retired, my gold doesn’t figure in funding my lifestyle, just possessing it is my real attachment. I guess we are all different…..👍

I messaged him when it was first listed, it’s for a single half sovereign and they are in cloud cuckoo land. They have a full listed for £4k on a bin too 🤣

I don’t really see gold and silver as investments, they’re savings accounts to me, there is 0 chance they will ever fall to nil. They don’t generate wealth and capital like other investments they hold it and preserve it. I hope to keep my stuff for at least 10-15 years god forbid something happen.

1845 Sov….who can spot what’s wrong????

Here's my 1870 half sovereign (die 4), Marsh 445A (R4)
Identifiers (as per Marsh, other online sources also referring to 'Marsh 445A' in their descriptions) - coarse beading around edges, no shield dot on centre line, 98 denticles obverse, 101 denticles reverse, I in REGINA pointing between two denticles, bust slightly to left, nose pointing between T and O in VICTORIA.

The final design of the UK round pound series is also my personal favourite.
I find it extraordinary that those with sway at the Royal Mint have, as yet, never seen fit to use this reverse for a sovereign.

Just got the 2005 today & 2002 last week both from forum members,lovely coins.
 

Impulse buy I have to admit, bars really not my usual thing.
I like it.....but I do not love it.  Will likely be gracing a sales page at some point when I need cash.
