I'm pretty sure the 1/4 Britannia from those years are 22mm in diameter. And that is right about the weight. So I would say your coins are correct

    Great looking collection.
Although my grandad passed away 21 years ago, my mum only gave me his coin collection over the Christmas period, there was a few gold coins we knew about, but mainly it was all pre decimal stuff.
I found these web sites quite useful, https://www.predecimal.com/key_dates
    https://www.allcoinvalues.com/index.html
Turns out he had a few rarer coins, but they were so worn they wouldn't be worth a great deal

No money update for the first week in March. Just a few pictures of big lumps of machinery that I need to do something with. The JCB and the Princeton fork truck hasn't been started for just over 10 years since the heart attack.

Just don't know what's best to do with them. Believe it or not the old dumper fired up and ran. Last time I started it was perhaps 5 or 6 years ago. God I've collected some weird and wonderful stuff over the years.

Consumer/retail price inflation is slowed by productivity/technology. Asset price inflation incorporates that growth element (more having surplus capital). On another measure gold has moved into mild/moderately relatively expensive territory. Early 1970's gold was very cheap, late 1970's had become expensive, by the end of that millennium had moved back to being very cheap again.

UK house/gold ratio is very much a similar looking chart.
As the gold/silver ratio has increased, silver is perhaps the better value, but as ever its far far easier to make a judgement with hindsight, much less so (if not impossible) at the time, what can seem expensive (cheap) can become even more expensive (cheap).
Much capital has flighted to the US$ (fear), the dollar is relatively strong. As fear subsides and capital flows elsewhere (to where greater reward potentials are seen), so the dollar might weaken - gold rise in US$ terms. As might the relatively weak current Pound gain in strength - gold decline in Pound terms. That gold might rise for Americans doesn't mean a mirroring of that will occur for Brits.

For what it's worth, I've put in a Freedom of Information request to the Royal Mint, to establish whether the mintage figure of 137 bullion coins is correct (as per 2021 Marsh book). RM have got 20 working days to respond (and could extend by another 20 days if they're struggling to find the info). Day '1' will be Monday 22nd April.
Will update once I get a response.
