Is this with all older silver coins so that the other material was only copper or with the ones from the UK ? I thought they also used other materials, like nickel or combinations ?

Paying 30 CAD for an ounce of silver is a bargain when the price will rise much higher and a mistake when it will drop agin to much lower numbers. In hindsight it's all easy but for speaking in the present, I would not call it a bargain at that price, also not underpriced but just the market price.

Fake money is made I guess a little bit later than the real was introduced. In history you read a lot about fake coins and also how it was used in Wars to destroy the economy of other nations, and I'm not only speaking about WW II. I think that just as with so many things, in the past the quality was better of fake's because it was more difficult to make them so you had to be good in it while now you just order Chinese rubbish from the internet ...

100% agree with your opinion ! About the silver squeeze itself, people should better first look to the annual production of silver before they think that a few 10000 people buying some ounces can make a difference ... The only think that they can influence are making the premiums higher but not the spott price.

So they grade something but don't guarantee that it's real ...

But are you sure that they really check the coins on being real ? I mean by grading them they check them so a bad fake will be obvious but things like the weight, magnetic test, ...; do they check things like that ? I'm just wondering because I watched some youtube videos over fake graded coins. Most were probably fake slabbed coins but one was 100% real graded.

I mentioned this some time ago in an other topic that because of the strange UK customs situation, they stopped shipping to the UK. It was written on the site for a while.

If you have to pay VAT on silver coins in Spain, than principal goldsilver must charge it to you, in that you are 100% correct. As it is not in Belgium on silver coins, we are still happy just as in other EU countries were there is no VAT on silver. ( but if you want to know for sure what goldsilver will do, try to place an order with them from Spain, than you will be sure if they will charge you or not )

VAT is on nearly everything. In Belgium, it's 21% on almost everything, 6% on things like water, fruits and vegetables. Gold in general and silver coins ( so no private mint bars or rounds ) are exceptions.

I hope it was not the magnetic test ... but I am also wondering how you find it out ?

Just read an article on the main financial news site in Belgium, that is respected, that Bitcoin can/ probably go to 20.000 USD, so a major decrease this year. With Bitcoin it can go every direction, that's my idea.

A little bit off topic but also still on topic: " Does a grader also checks that the coins are genuine ( in this case Roman coins from that era ) or does he just looks at the condition of the coins ?"

I thought 20:1 but 15:1 is possible. But that was a complete different time with no real free markets like it is today ...

Just a question, but why do you think that the ratio will go back to 15:1 ? Which reasons do you see that this will happen ? For me this is a fantasy scenario, a 40:1 ratio I can see happen in the future.
