  1. Was it already before you took them out of their capsules that thet had the problems ? First time I read about problems with Perth Mint coins, except the milkspooting on the Kangaroo's, is there not one mint on this planet that can produce good silver coins ????
  2. Why you don't buy maples or Australian coins, the Australian coins are beautiful, super quality and except of the kangaroo's have no milkspotting problems. All my Britts of last year have milkspots, never will I buy RM coins again !
  3. Not as many answers as I hoped but a big Thank You for those who already answered !
  4. Why you love it that they exist ? Because they look nice, the usage of them, something else ... ??
  5. In Europe getting junk silver is very easy, I got kg's of them, most grom France and Belgium. I pay them at spott + 5 or 7,5% premium what is a good price in my eyes.
  6. On Youtube you see video after video about the Goldback "hype" in the US. In my eyes it's an insane product with such high premiums because at the end you pay a lot for some nice looking plastic with almost no real value, if it has any value at all because I think it will cost more to get the gold out of it again than the amount of gold that is stuck in them. So I don't see the real difference with fiat money ... As a collector "gimmick" I can understand it if you would want to have one Goldback, but from a stacking view I think it is a terrible investment. What are you guys here on the forum thinking about the Goldbacks ??
  7. Welcome on this great forum, it will be a place were you will learn a lot more about collecting and stacking !
  8. Welcome on this great forum, it will be a place were you will learn a lot more about collecting and stacking !
  9. Welcome Peter on this great forum, it will be a place were you will learn a lot more about collecting and stacking ! May I ask you why somebody who is already stacking for a while interested in Goldbacks ? The premiums on them are insane so why not just buy real gold ? For me there is no difference in Goldbacks and fiat money but I am interested in your view.
  10. Welcome on this great forum, it will be a place were you will learn a lot more about collecting and stacking ! Maybe a strange question, but are it the same rules about VAT on silver on the Channel Islands as in the UK ? If so, do many of you not buy it in France, nice boat-trip ?
  11. Like I mentioned in the topic about bullion gold in the UK, I am really intrigued why people ( you guys here on the forum ) still buy new silver in the UK were you have to pay such high premiums and VAT on if you can buy Gold without VAT and with normal premiums ? And the second question is when you still buy silver at those prices, you still see it as a good/ safe investment ? I hope many of the UK members on this forum will answer and give their view on this subject. 🙂
  12. Thx for the example ! Terrible to see that even without the VAT a Britt cost in the UK 3 euro a piece more than at goldsilver.be if you only buy a few ... But with the VAT the price is just insane and in my eyes not longer a worthy investment. I don't understand that people still buy new ( or silver with VAT ) silver in the UK when you don't have those crazy prices when buying Gold ... ? ( and because I am really interested in that question, I will open a new post with it and I hope that many will answer because I am intrigued about the answers )
  13. I fully agree with you, with those prices/ premiums + VAT you can almost never go better than with gold.
  14. But if an official dealer sells a Britt or an other coin on the forum, he must add vat too, for a dealer the place he sell does not matter or am I wrong ? So is 24 GBP a normal price for a Britt in the UK with or without the VAT included ?
  15. Indeed. But please don't say that the price of 24 GBP for a Britt is not vat included ??
  16. If you live in the US, you should better find somebody their who will make them, otherwise you have the extra cost of shipping and import or sale taxes.
  17. damm that's expensive, you guys are really screwed when buying silver ... new Britt's cost 24 euro at goldsilver.be, big difference
  18. Was that a rhetorical question ? I hope you feel your post was a contribution to this discussion ...
  19. So old and still looking so great, I wished I was made from gold, LOL 🤣
  20. That's why I love gold so much more than silver, it keeps on looking great, even after 167 or more ( many more ) years ! 😍
  21. I fully agree with you ! I am much more a stacker than a collector but when I pay I higher premium for something, I have the right to get that premium by getting a coin that is not damaged. In the US you can buy cull coins, ( or how they call ut ? ) that are circulated coins with possible slight damage, scratches or milkspotting. If you buy those, you have no reason to complain. I don't agree that a dealer must check every coin, but when he get's a complaint on a coin with a high premium ( and a silver eagle has a crazy high premium ) he should give your customer some service by offering a replacement or gining a partial refund of the premium. When you buy something on a site like amazon and the box is damaged, you just have to sent it back on their cost and get a replacement, no questions asked, but when you buy a precious metal you must just accept that it can be damaged ... ????
  22. I rest my case when I read things like this. Point is that the dealer sold a coin with a high premium that was damaged. Because of the damage your premium is gone or at least for the biggest part so a compensation of the premium part is the least you can expect from the dealer. It's less profit for him but a good customer care what will earn morn in the long run. I remember I bought a golden Indian 10USD last year at my Lcs. When I came home I saw a big scratch on one side, I could change it for an other without a problem, that is what you can call service! ( the coin was put in a capsule in the shop so it was not damaged during transport ) The comparison of the renault and the lambo is just stupid because in this case he paid for a renault but got a dacia ...
  23. If you pay 30p over spott, on a coin with such a high premium, you already just pay the spott silver price so in that case you will probably loose nothing or almost nothing when the coin is damaged ...
