  1. That's probably one of the many reasons this forum is so popular, here you don't have those crazy costs ...
  2. Damm, it looks like a Halloween horror coin ..., that's a BIG no no for buying !
  3. No import charges because I buy them at www.goldsilver.be and I live in Belgium.
  4. Ok, I get what you want to say, but as I stated before, this hyper-inflation situation is nothing new in Turkey, every so many years they have to erase the zero's on the money ...
  5. I don't think you can compare them. In Lebanon you have many religions, ethnicities and factions in these religions. In Turkey you have one religion and 2 big ethnicities. They also have a strong army, Lebanon has almost no army and many militia. Situation now in Turkey is nothing new, big difference now is that the media may criticize them now since they are friends with Poetin and nobody still believes they will become a member state of the EU.
  6. His votes come from abroad, low intrest rates and a currency that drops every day makes it very interesting for them to invest in real estate in Turkey and plan extra holidays. They become more happy every day so his votes are guaranteed. And if you oppose him you are a criminal or terrorist so he has no internal fear. This man is crazy but knows what he is doing !
  7. In Turkey hyper inflation is nothing new, every so many years they erase some zero's ... People always traded in their paychecks for dollars and gold has always been very popular there, but they buy more heavy 24kt jewelry than coins but at the end it is the same. The big leader gets all of his votes from people living abroad so they will all be happy, every day they have more money to spent on the next holiday ...
  8. Looks fantastic. A pity they never sell stuff like that with higher than BU coin premiums but still a normal price ... At the end, the design is simple.
  9. People who still believe there is a silver shortage are dreamers. I can buy at every shop as much silver as I could ever own in my lifetime with no waiting periods. Just search the amount of silver that was mined this year already, more than 800 000 000 ounces. Supply chain issues are something that every branch has, in the company I work we are having supply chain delays of 3-6 months ...
  10. Maybe it is not so easy as you think. Like the value of the chips/ coins, how will you do it, a Britt 1 GBP, a Philharmoniker 5 GBP, a Krugerand 10 GBP, ...; maybe not so simple for your friends. And you will damage your stack, scratches, dents, fingerprints, ... Or you must have a very big stack with bad coins but than we go again to my first point, you must make a system with them is workable. My 2cents, just leave the idea ...
  11. You are very welcome, hope you feel at home here very soon 😃
  12. No, I put Ketchup on my fries but thx for your nice reaction on my opinion ...
  13. Welcome on this great forum, it will be a place were you will learn a lot more about collecting and stacking !

  16. If you want to have a safe idea of the value of your collection, just take the silver price/ounce and compare it with your weight.
  17. I know one thing, if you try to sell a coin like that, ( both to a dealer as to a private person ) you will never get the same value as with the same type of coin that is in a 100% good condition. Or you must sell it in full tubes and they don't look to it. For me the answer of the dealer is not a good answer ! Why ? Because it is a "noob" they will replace the coin for ONE time ! So if you or me buy one we are screwed ? Bad quality must always be replaced or offered a small discount in return. I had problems like that in the past with some coins ( both golden as silver ) here in Belgium and every time I could trade the coin in against an other, without a problem, that is service !
  18. Go for it and show us the result 😀
  19. Good to hear about the quality. I was just doubting because the price of their limited minted silver coins are less than a euro more expensive than the basic Philharmoniker BU coin. But the dealer will probably just give us a great deal like always and there is no hidden catch. Good to know.
  20. A lot of limited silver coins ( 25.OOO/ each ) are minted and being released by the Scottsdale mint. If I see the prices here, they are only a euro more expensive than the cheapest BU coin so it seems like a good buy. So what is the catch ? Does the Scottsdale Mint have a good reputation about issues like milkspotting and quality and why are the premiums so low with limited mintages as 25.OOO ? No demand for this coins ? They look nice. I'm interested to read the comments from all of you about this topic.
  21. You have a year in mind for when it will reach 45 GBP ? Even when silver goes higher, only a few higher premium coins really take advantage of the higher silver price, most of them will stay behind. That's what I saw the last 8 years since I am stacking silver and gold.
  22. https://www.thesilverforum.com/forum/13-united-kingdom-ungraded/ 😀
  23. I would try to buy as much gold ( like sovereigns ) with the lowest premiums, so no proofs, graded or numismatic coins. You can also buy some silver but as you are starting and knowing the reason why, I would buy at least 3/4 of your budget in gold.
  24. LOL 🤣 The South African Krugerand has that place, and I think many will come before the Sovereign like the American Eagle and the Maple Leaf but the Sovereign has a historical place in the stacking community.
  25. I would never pay 80 for that card but if you like it, why not.
