Not so much an update but a request for forgiveness. I've done gone and bought a 2014 1oz Brit and used my saved up pennies.

I will start you off. I will do £5 less than Hatton Garden Metals posted. By the time you are ready, see who has offered a biggest discount
While you are reading this, do yourself a favour and spend a £1 to see all the deals as they happen

Skyfiller reacted to Bratnia in Continuing to buy gold at new highs?
In ten years time will the recent price have been a relative high, low, or average price? Unless you can confidently predict that then the best action is just to keep adding at regular intervals across those years (averaging in). Some of those purchases will be at highs, and lows, collectively across all purchase you'll have averaged in at around the average price, and typically 'average' is good-enough.

On the plus side, if this is going to be a massive slide, we get to do this all again 😀🤑🥴

Thanks @SamThomasldn. Just for clarity that's the 1862, 1863, 1893, 1896 and the 1917P heading up my way.

Skyfiller reacted to dicker in When do you stop your stacking journey?
For me, it is:
- A discipline
- Obviously sane if you look at the macro-economic picture
- Collected by nice people
If the bottom two change then I might stop.

I'm not hiding being female (my username gives it away) and I comment quite a lot. Although if I'd known our usernames were permanent and can't be edited, I probably would have had something more imaginative! It just seems to be a smaller audience of women in to PMs in general. Most are too busy washing up.
I was reluctant to comment when I joined. Now I don't shut up (mostly thanks to everyone being so nice to me).
I'm also very happy to say I've not had any creepy come ons (touch wood). No one has a clue if I'm Jabba The Hutt or Margot Robbie.
Gold @£1893
Goodnight y'all!

Skyfiller reacted to MBTPSilver in Gold Monitoring Thread £ GBP only
For those who asked for a dealer update I'm seeing demand has ticked up a fair bit in the past two weeks. I think those who'd hoped for a dip after £1,750 are now buying with it pushing up to £1,850.
Still plenty of people selling, but more buying again now. Not at mini-budget/banking crisis levels yet, but if it gets any busier you'll start to see banners going up on the various sites. I'd say silver has a slight edge, but still plenty of gold being shifted.

Skyfiller got a reaction from GoodAsGold in The Oxford Mint Britannia 1g Gold Bar WOW WOW ( New Release): A Beautiful Bar What Do You Think ?
Such a shame, thought there was going to be some history here but alas it’s being run out of a domestic address in Woking. They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with all that historical rubbish on the website when it’s not related in the slightest. I’m even verging on the thought of is it a legitimate company as this is their terms and conditions on their website?!

Still buying but altering what I acquire based on how I plan to exit in a couple of decades. Theory being, gold will be far too expensive for most to afford (more than it is already) so most likely exit plan will involve dealers (so now looking to acquire ounces closer to spot than has been achievable with Sovs) whilst also picking up quarter/half Sovs that will be more affordable for the everyday man/woman. Just means I’ll alter my stack a bit over time. That’s the plan anyway
