The Oxford Mint Britannia 1g Gold Bar WOW WOW ( New Release): A Beautiful Bar What Do You Think ?

The topic in question was A Beautiful Bar What Do You Think ?

The company bank balance has no significant reference to do with the design or about the product. If the balance sheet was £10 million, why would that make a difference to the bullion item?

The TSF post was for UK bullion consumers and TSF members to get a chance to look at this new item and the new range coming soon.

Back yard bullion.I am not willing to go back and forth with you and have 1,000 sentences in exchange.

So what I propose is that Nextdaybullion and Backyardbullion have a professional gentleman's live YouTube discussion and debate on the UK bullion market, and any topics, for example, like the Oxford Mint, can be discussed. I can arrange an intermediary channel to arrange the discussion.

I have a few questions to ask you, and by the looks of it, you have some questions to ask me.🤔
I am not ''quite'' in any way, but I am happy to express my 14 years of physical bullion trading and my proprietary trading experience on precious metals.

I see you only started in 2016, so your experience in the sector is very limited, and with some of the content you bring out, it shows, and this may be a good education experience for you.
I hope you take this up; if not, you will be the one who is quiet.   (being quite quiet about all this?)
If you accept, please email me, and I will start making the arrangements. I am sure there will be lots of people interested in viewing this.

No thanks.

As I said, the bar is nice but pretty derivative in design (my opinion).

Good luck with the product, I hope it sells well for you

Yourself and BYB cover different niches. BYB is not a bullion dealer, he's an intermediary and YouTuber, it's natural you have different POVs

BYB doesn't have to concern himself with what is popular or the margins of particular items, he gets paid the same regardless. He's a commentator and can say whatever he wants. Like all commentators sometimes we agree with their opinions and sometimes we don't

IMHO the comments on the Oxford mint are fair and didn't all come from BYB:
1) Made in Germany
2) Rips off Royal Mint
3) Not CGT-exempt

Do I still like the Oxford mint stuff? Sure, but competition is extreme in the world of fractional gold

It would be a nice marketing trick to get the channel with the highest subscriber count in UK bullion to cover your product release, I like it, Machiavellian 👍

Mind is primary and mass-energy is derivative

Oh do stop being a fanny dear. It was just good due diligence, something that’s very healthy. No need to act like this. A straight forward answer would have been better to satisfy your honour, quiet quiet?. No need for extravagant challenges to debaite. If you were just showing the design then why get so hot under the old collar?

Aaaahhh😉

"What do you think?" is a very broad question and IMO people's responses here absolutely fall within its scope. Furthermore, you must be aware that people are interested in, and do ascribe value to, heritage - even for bullion pieces.

So you didn't actually want to know what people thought?

Even if you had more tightly constrained your question/post, the fact is that trying to impose your own rules on a discussion thread on someone else's forum will tend to leave a bad taste in the mouth of many other commenters. There's a difference between remaining on topic and trying to control the narrative.

Hi, it's not about controlling the narrative.

Bullion gold and silver is supposed to be enjoyed. Examine the product, take in the design, quality, and finish, and have an idea and vision for the product, but pulling out bank balances is pointless.

The product is launched, and there are many new items coming out. You are buying the gold in weight, not the company shares; you are getting a completed product and what it says on the tin. The conformity and legality of the gold and product are complete and are now in the consumer's hands.

Now, if you wanted to question the integrity of the Oxford Mint and its production, that is a different topic because I can give you the facts on this. I can then explain the source of gold, the LEV role in production, and who the people involved in the Oxford Mint, there background and their experience are. I can give you my full due diligence in the correct manner.

I did think of the inimitable @LawrenceChard as I wrote that! Except in his case the contributions were nearly always positive and reflected well on his company.

I see little flashes of "LawrenceChard is here" at the top of some posts, ever optimistic that he may post something some day. Rumour has it, that if I ever make a typo, it was actually a deliberate attempt to bring him out of the woodwork and say hello. 😎

@LawrenceChard was around when the Oxford Mint was making coins in the 1600's wasn't he?

Hell, he was probably there talking to them about free postage in 871AD

Would be great to hear.  I know nothing about the Oxford Mint.

Not my circus, not my monkeys

I have just read the full thread.  Are the products *really* made in Germany and then sold as being from the Oxford Mint, with a Union Jack on the packaging?

That would be extremely odd - especially as there is something on the back of the packaging about keeping the U.K. together post Brexit.

Can you imagine the owner going onto Dragons Den with this sort of story…

Yes. Seems that way. Though they sold out with very little marketing so I guess it’s a much desired product.
