Goddards silver dip and milk spots

Deus

Recommended Posts

Tried IPA, acetone and finally a soak in some Goddards silver dip and nothing has removed milk spots.
Are there any other chemical dips I can try? Don’t want to be rubbing each one with an eraser for hours.

Unfortunately, the milk spots will not disappear with any solutions.

Goddards products are brilliant for tarnished silver objects, but can not remove the milk spots from affected coins.

If anyone has a most badly milk spotted 1 oz coin I will be willing to buy for a fair price. I have something I want to try and if it works will reveal. I do not  know if I am lucky, but my silver 1 oz don't seen to have been effected. I have eagles from 89 to KCIII.

Do I remember correctly that the solution used is Borax? If so, should we not try a Borax remover?

Various stuff may take off a bit of the milk spots, however, due to what causes them they don’t go away and will come back

I've successfully removed milk spots using an orbital sander 😉

The best thing imo is to make a coin ring from badly milked silver coins.

Awesome how did you manage that?
