s the RM aware of it?

I contacted the mint and they told me that since I did not buy the coin directly from them they could not verify the coin was genuine.

I had 2 one sold on ebay for £200 the other I had to cancel the sale there as it was bought by an American who wanted it shipped to the USA. This despite listing it on ebay for UK delivery only.

Thanks for your interest Callum. I bought the coins on TSF.

Stick them on with Ebay GSP enabled. Overseas buyers can't buy them without using the GSP and you just have to send them to the GSP depot in the midlands. Costs slightly more in Ebay fees though, but not much if you are on a 80% offer.

So the coin for auction has the right specific gravity (ballpark my equipment). Are we to entertain the coin is silver but fake......? Is mint recognition relevant in this case? Why?

Whatchu talkin about fam? Go to sleep 😆 mint likely just doesn't want to acknowledge it's doing a terrible job, but lack of acknowledgement would make it less desirable as it could just be construed as terrible QC

It's interesting what gives x value. Been watching the mint process on the tube

I think when it is acknowledged and then given a specific name by NGC, when graded with the label, it is considered official and it will have its own population, which can be looked up and confirm it's scarcity, if the mint doesn't confirm it, then NGC can't label it as a mint error, and could just grade it as normal and likely just give it a lower grade due to considering it poorly struck

I see and I agree somewhat yet do you actually need the mint to tell you your silver is silver

Nope, die clash, struck well by improper die as I understand it.

I think it would have been good to have been able to send it to the royal mint so they can verify it and confirm that it is genuine (even though it blatantly would be) and yeah by poor strike I just meant the process in which it was minted was not done correctly resulting in the funky result

Well yes, good but they opted out of their own coin - disgrace-

Yeah they be silly CatFace. Maybe they thought you be wanting to return anything from a tube to a monster box, so used said excuse about not being able to confirm it's genuine to rid themselves of any liability, when in actuality you just wanted acknowledgement and clarity.

Anyway time to go back to sleep
