Get it melted into a bar would be my choice, or sell and buy coins?

That would be my choice too. Nearly a 1/2 kilo of gold has to be worth about £25,000, so why not take a walk down Hatton Garden and sell to the highest bidder? …..Whoops, sorry, you’ll need to get the ferry from Belfast direct to Blackpool perhaps!😄

One could make an impressive Prince Albert?

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

Hi Chaps, thx for the replies...

@Stackemhttps://www.wilsonsauctions.com/  Ya used to be able to get some nice bits and bobs at good prices, but people are paying ABOVE shop prices for stuff now..  Can't say i understand it, a simple scan round the UK bullion dealers usually results in cheaper prices, but it is what it is.  People are prepared to overpay to get PM's.  They had a load of 100g cast gold bars i was itching for, but by the time you added the costs... it was WAY over the price from bullion dealers.. Happened in several auctions, so not just someone making a mistake and not calculating the auction costs into their bid.. Crazy.   Keep stacking folks....

@Roy 😂 🤣😂   Funnily enough, i hadnt thought of that..  Would be an impressive centre piece for the top of the fireplace mind..

@Tn21 Spot on bud.

@Mtaybar I like that idea...  @SilverAngel did some gorgeous mirror finish silver bars there i was perving over..  I wonder..  I just dont know wether it would be cost prohibitive..

@Petra Simple no nonsense... I might end up going down that road..
