TCC Auction 46 - Coins sold below spot

It looks like there were a few bargains to be had at todays Coin Cabinet auction. Lots 209, 212, 213, 214 and 216 all sold for £1150, that's 3.57% below spot (before P&P). Any TSF members get lucky today?

Here's the numista description of the coins sold: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces17714.html

Is this before the sellers have to pay their fees too?

If so, that is a terrible result - you would have gotten 98% of spot from most dealers minimum for these coins. Heck, I would give people spot price for them!

Yes, there's a sellers commission to pay so the sellers going to disappointed.

No buyers commission at TCC auctions though, they're the real winner.

Just the reality of the auction house. If someone is winning then generally there is another party losing.

I missed this CC sale. I've followed the last few but with lots seemingly going for more than I felt they were worth I figured I'd give it a break before viewing another one.

Most of today's were not slabbed so prices were more realistic.

Yup. I looked at list on coin cabinet. They start their reserve at 10% below spot price a believe, no matter the coin! 😕 … a numismatics nightmare if you ask me.
