Today I bought.....

Recommended Posts

Only cost £95 which for 5oz silver and 1g gold I thought was rather good

Even at todays mega low prices at spot, thats worth £75-£80 just in basic precious metals.

That's a really good buy you got there. And a nice looking coin as well.

I might try and find one myself. Where did you get it from?

Can I ask where you got all this?

They are form one of the local jewellers-pawn shop near me.

I get bits and pieces from about 3-4 of them.

I asked one of them as I was going to get the train to Manchester 3 weeks ago "have you got any sovereigns in" The reply "No we have just sent them all off to be scrapped", my response "What".

I asked on my return Thursday and they have had none in in a 3 week period.

So now I have to wait again.

I am like a vampire I have got my fill of gold and silver for the time being but the hunger won't take long to return. Then we hunt again.

There are no pawn brokers for ruddy miles around for me. Not fair.  :(

Plenty of cash converters, but I ain't paying £240 for a sovereign.......

HT do you live in Scotland, that place I bought from in Edinburgh seemed to be reasonable.

Spot on Kman! They have had them @ 3% over spot for ages, way cheaper than anywhere else. Had been watching it for a few weeks, and I guess they are clearing out to make way for the 2015 Lunar. Been sorely tempted to start a gold Aus Nugget year collection, but that may be a 5 year expedition, and their % over spot is high....so just wanted to add to the gold stack with something nice!

Nah, now live down in the West Country. Although I do go back to Scotland 4 or 5 times a year. I go through Glasgow to get to the west Coast, so Edinburgh is a bit of a trek for me...
