Highland Tiger, I have a nice Highland Castle for sale ;)

http://www.dornochcastlehotel.com/

Was this some off topic joke? Or are you genuinely the owner of that hotel and looking to sell? In which case it should go in the trade section :D

silver and golds off a bit this morning aren't they anybody know why silver heading for £12.20 ish

I'd say it's nothing more than general price fluctuation to be honest, I start looking for reasons when there is a 3% swing.

Silver is fairly volatile so 1% swings are neither here not there.

Stacker since 2013

It should also go into the Fantasy section, because my stack isn't quite there yet. And any way I want a proper castle, not one with guests walking about wanting stuff.

"The simple fact is that when the technical funds buy, they all buy in unison and that is usually the sole reason for prices to rise. When the technical funds sell, they sell in unison causing prices to fall – always. It’s not hard to see why the technical funds trade in lockstep with other technical funds – they are all using the same price signals."

The fall happened just after the dow jones opened and fell off a cliff, usually PM's go up when this happens, this may be the manipulators letting us know gold and silver isn't a good place to put our money when stocks fall, looks like they're climbing back now.

Watching the price to buy at the best time must drive you mad.  £12.28 / $21.04  Tiny bit down on when I ordered my first VAT free silver.  If you look at the 5 year chart anything below £16 looks like a deal even without thinking about the state of the markets and currency.

Dornoch Castle is my family business... don't think we can take gold or silver for it ;)  We did take Scotcoins (a cryptocurrency) in the bar for a bit.

Found an iphone app last night, silver tracker, unfortunately its in $ but it shows the price on the icon to the nearest round number and you can set it to send a push alert if Silver goes above or below a price.  Might save on the sanity.

£12.34 / $21.12.  Ooooo. + £0.06

I use the Kitco app "Kcast/Gold Live!", which lets you choose from multiple currencies, and also which metals you track including base metals, plus oil and US stock indices so you can see how PMs are performing alongside other commodities/investments. There's relevant gold/silver industry news, technical charts and mining stocks included too. You can set up alerts, but i have never used them.

Free on Android, not sure if iSheep get charged for it, but in this case I'd expect not.

The Old Courtroom looks like a very nice room.

I regard anything picked up under £20 an ounce to be low priced silver. I will probably still keep buying if and when it goes over, but I am hoping silver can be bought for under £20 an ounce for a long long time.

When I started picking up a little, a few months ago, less than £19 is the rule.  Now i've found VAT free silver, less than £16 (£15.27 on last order)  is what i'm aiming for. Got the Kitco app now.  Much better but the push alerts are very good on Silver Tracker except its dollars only for alerts :s

I think I agree with you there Chris. Sounds about right.

Just an observation, but whenever silver / gold rise, bitcoin takes a hit.

Wonder why.

I know this isn't the bitcoin thread, but it is silver price related.

Probably because it is just another alternative currency, albeit not controlled by a government.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.
