The beauty is that if mainstream stocks go down mining stocks like Greatland will go up - its no brainer becuase people again will go to PM's. PM Mining stocks are a double agent! Espically up and coming companies like Greatland!

If there is a sharp reversal, stock like these will get hammered whatever the news.  The best bets for weathering a storm are the traditional defensive stocks, pharma, utilities, groceries and drinks (and even the last one have had trouble this time).

I think in the last quarter of 2020

Sounds a bit bad, but I am kind of cheering for it.

Stock markets stupidly inflated. I want to see it burn.

In most cases yes but you can’t un-find the gold. The estimates so far is 4.4moz gold in the Haverion mine, that was in the last quarterly report. Since then they have had 9 rigs drilling 24/7 for the last two months. Newcrest have also fully funded the decline and mine build.

The high grade ore is 10 x the high grade in Newcrest’s Tefler mine, which is only 45km away so no need to build a new processing plant.

Ok the FOMO got me. I am out of the short and into newcrest and greatland

Do you think it was the sobering economic news from Germany or you entering the market that caused 5% drop in Greatland :P

It's been an interesting day to watch so far, I'm more relieved I didn't get sucked into any stocks with fomo

I wouldn't have actually gone for gold miner stocks I thought they were on the down trend for the next 4 weeks or so but the change in the market has thrown that out the window

It's been interesting to see gold, silver and bitcoin getting sucked down too (albeit only a little) whilst gold miners are doing well

Are the large drops down due mostly to corona cases rising again in the US?

TVIX up 37%

If corona cases continue to rise over the weekend Monday could be very interesting
