  1. If no satisfaction you have to options.
1/ sell now and buy something you enjoy immediately.
2/ wait and hope the special design will go up in value and sell later.

i know my opinion on the pink sovs is not popular but I like it very much. It makes for something different than all the other yellow gold coins you can find. I’m my case it is what drew me to collect them in the first place.

  2. Something as grading is NOT subjective and is NOT different for everyone.

just as with all things as tasting wine there is no subjectivity in the quality aspects of a great bottle of wine. It depends whoever on the experience of the taster.

with great experience and capacity (olfactory or other) you can sample and note something on a very reliable quality measure.

not everyone has that experience, hence why you trust books and experts in the bottles you buy at the correct price.

i can like something of lesser quality or different quality but quality is not equal to liking.

if now, i would like to taste something that I can not fully appreciate because I don’t have the experience it is also my right but I trust the competent people to have judge the quality of the product.

if you think that quality is subjective, think about your speciality, there is something you probably know more than others and where you van judge quality better than most… because you have the most reference.

it always annoys me that people think that quality is subjective  in any fields it is not. This discussion I will gladly go in depth with anyone who want my 2 cents in mp lol

  3. My two cents,

all this happened before my tragic boat incident off course…

i am a collector at heart… so for stacking to work for me… I always knew I needed an extra part of beauty within the object.

that is where proof coins helped me to grow my stack.

it was the first time I spend money on collecting something that has intrinsic value to it. So I loved my proof coins, and whatever happens with the collection part of the coin (grow or loose interest)… it has value from the métal it is made of.

  4. Hello, I was wondering the last day if proof coins where a little bit more safe concerning fakes. Or is it the opposite, with the higher premiums attached to them are they more a target for fakes.

your thought and experience on this subject…

  5. Nothing new in my comment but the obvious, if you take the time to create a pseudo on this forum, why on earth not writing first and foremost a message to bleyer themselves first? Then a message asking for help in there forum part? Especially as they have an official presence here ? I also always found that the best way to find help with a compagny, is by trying to work with them…

on a last but important note for a new buyer, i would like to note, I remember when I bought my first coins (which I all lost in a tragic boat incident on the coast of Sardaigne) I was very stressed out by the postage part and by the time it took for them to arrive. Anything that happened during that period of waiting (including passeport checks) seemed terrible. This mostly as people always tells you there are so many fraudulent sellers. The last coins I bought before that accident, I was way more relaxed and understood some delay might happened.

    Cheers

  6. Thank you for that.

what bothers me with the % over spot and pricing of those proof coins is that no other gold proof coins of any other série from Austrian mint had a fluctuating price structure from year on year.

any set of the past respected the price point of the serie regardless of spot (or the whole série price went up when spot went sky high)

that is why I find this confusing.

  7. hello everyone,

sorry to dig up this topic…

I was wondering what justified the huge price increase between the two coins?
they are both still available, they are both proofs of same mintage…

    i really don’t get it.

what I understand is the time where they where minted… but for so many reasons this seems not the possible answer.

many thanks to whoever has any idea…

@Wonger genuinely doesn't know why, how and when so it's all hokum from his perspective. This isn't about whether gold actually crashes or not, it's about him actually knowing what he's talking about. A broken clock is right twice a day but adds no value to anyone at any time.

If I am correct he already stated his theory multiple times (we might not agree but he did this several times) and stated a timeframe of 2 years (Continuous slow crash) to arrive to this 400.

so take out the popcorn, wait and watch the movie.

  9. For the modern silver bullion, let’s not forget about the minimum Cost of making, selling, distributing them.
we always speak about % but the make a silver or gold coin the fix amount it cost to produce etc are the same. Only the metal is different.
so a 2% of an ounce of gold is 28 pounds. Way much than the premium on modern silver. The cost are more or less the same.

now, these costs are going down with older pieces which circulation already flattened out the production and promotion costs.

    Hole this helps a bit

well at least that is what I understand of it.

    cheers

  10. Now I am curious to know, how many, should the prediction of wronger happened (gold to 800 or even 1200), will excuses themselves very publicly? Or will they ignore it or find excuses ... like 1200 is far from 800 lol

only for this reason I hope his prediction happens.

I cannot believe this thread is still going strong. Wonger had you guys suckered with his comment. I'm sure he doesn't for a second believe that gold will drop to $1000/oz. If he did, he would be happily off loading his stack by now.

Wronger already commented on this, if you read true the topic, he did sold all his stack. (Well at least not at the best moment but still)

Now he also commented that the down had started 1 month ago so wait and see.

If you're asking for good deals it implies a rational reason and a willingness to take lucky dip coins in order to reduce premiums so most of those probably don't apply.

I am into deals... and some of these reasons apply.

i am all for the deals in proof sovereign’s.

For you asking for deals implies a rational reason. For me asking for deals is finding the best way to buy my collectors pieces.
