Today i received,As part of my new hobby and side line i have become a picker after a few conversations with local antique shops and dealers cost me a few coffees im starting to build up a few contacts these are a couple of picks i had this week from home visits  



and just to keep my love of the yellow stuff going

The last batch of NGC coins arrived, lots of good grades and believe or not I'm happier with my Vatican and Italian grades than my perfect Libertads... Lol Even though the 2016 5 onza in PF70 has a population of 4 at the moment. Struck out on the 2 onza, PF69 and PF68... But 2 PF70's out of 3 for the 2015 1 onza...

My sovereigns came in today

Was waiting for the last coin to arrive by mail, as it was won by a paper bid at auction a week ago - an 1826 George IV full sovereign (my first from that decade); it's a bit suspect around the rim (probably ex-jewellery or mount?). Still love the detail on the obverse.  
Then another first (and probably last...) for me: a 1784 full guinea (that's my oldest English coin). And then a bullion grade 1853 half sovereign. Those two were bought live at auction last week. 
Collector habit in full swing I guess....?

Well worth the wait....

Success!  Finally a winning bid on the DNW auction today.  While this 1807-A Negro Head Napoleon Quarter Franc is only in G/VG condition (though DNW had this as "Adjustment mark on face, otherwise about extremely fine"), I really wanted to pick up a specimen of this rare coin.  I'll look to upgrade from here but I'm happy to add it to the collection.

I blame @Numistacker for my recent sovereign craze ;-)  A shield back 1/2 sovereign is on its way

Thanks for the tip - I have just found it on their PCGS cert page; ??? only 232 PCGS graded coins with that MS65 grade. Price guide....$5,250.  Cost me £171 delivered. 
Oh the joys of coin collecting.  Well - I will just have to wait until it's safely with me, but this may be my biggest win yet.  Of course - the question is - to keep it, or sell it and convert the $ into gold? Sorry - going off topic and getting ahead of myself.

2011 China World Heritage Series - Shaolin Temple PF69 Ultra Cameo.  Few scratches on the slab so will have it rehoused sometime in the future.  Piked it up because I really like the reverse but I've got a bad eye at the moment so everything is blury
