These are the 5 oz. America The Beautiful coins. I have several of each and am looking to sell off all the extras and try to gather a complete set.

Won this date run of lovely condition Netherlands 25 Cents .640 silver coins, I only wanted one example of this coin but I won all of these for a very low bid, going to keep one (1940) and sell the other two (of which my boss wants first dibs next time I see her).
1941 was the last year that the Netherlands minted their own silver coins when the nazis invaded and stripped the country of anything of value, after this date the only silver Dutch coins were minted by various mints in the USA.
Production figures for the three coins are as follows
1939, 4,000,000
1940, 9,000,000
1941, 40,000,000

I hope to sell them before 2050.
But it s really genuinely beautiful ; sometimes I get upset to pay a lot of premium for an average-looking coin but that one is well-deserved.
I also many times feel that you really like or dislike a coin only after manipulating it in hand and looking at it with a magnifier. Sometimes you expect a coin to he a bit ugly on photo but you like it once in hand - or vice versa.
Does this happen to all of you ?

I have got an info from a pro guy and he said that the restrikes look proof or proof like ; have a softer strike ; and unlike original ones the fields are not perfectly flat and have a more concave appearance
Problem solved! Thanks all !

@dicker oh this could be your lucky day!😂!
As luck would have it, I have a significant number of these *must have* coins. I would only sell them to the right person (I’m sure you fit that bill), and would only sell them as complete sets (definitely keeping them together).
If you are ever feeling flush, drop me a line...you could acquire a superb collection overnight. Roosters..’The Complete Collection’.
Guardian Angels...’The Complete Collection’ ..and I mean complete..both 1879 and 1896 engraver mark variants...(not in this pic)
So glad you stopped bye, it was the right thing to do..talk soon!😃👍

they change it so americans can own gold again. it's a pro
that balances out a previous con. it's about balance, not
about favouring gold above all else.

Thought it was interesting to hear Nixon say that the US was temporarily removing the conversion of the USD into Gold. When did this become permanent???? or maybe 48 years and counting is seen as temporary.

This happens to me all the time. I buy a coin I’ve wanted for a long time and when it comes I’m disappointed. Vice versa also. I recently bought a Ceres head 20f and it when it came it was a gorgeous coin.
I'm tempted with your buy thread. I’ve got my eye on the Spanish coin and the Carlo felice..... I’ll have to have a think 😁.

A really fascinating thread. I own a 1911 20 Francs Marianne Rooster restrike which I’ve adopted as my “lucky coin”. I love the exceptionally beautiful laureate bust of Marianne on the obverse of the coin. However, I’ve stopped short of stacking the franc because of the low .900 gold purity but still regard them as highly collectible coins.

Most of these have already appeared above.
Lions and Unicorns, Britannias, 1 ouncers. One piece of platinum still (hopefully) incoming - I'm awaiting an exchange of the original coin I bought almost a month ago.

Keep on stacking! Received these mixed PMs over the past couple of days...
Really enjoying the Austrian Mint’s Philharmonic design with my first 1996 Austria 1/4 oz Gold Philharmonic BU.
A couple of 2010 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle (BU)...
And we have some bits of Silver starting off with the Peter Rabbit™ 2020 UK 50p Silver Proof Coin. This only took five weeks to arrive from The Royal Mint...
My very first Kookaburra with this lovely 2016 1 Oz Silver Australian Kookaburra Perth Mint (BU)...
We also have added five 2018 1 oz Russian Silver Saint George Coin (BU). These look truly bullion quality, but with an enjoyable St. George and the Dragon design .
Also, picked up a sister series of the Chinese restrikes, with five 2020 China 1 oz Silver Shih Kai "Flying Dragon" Restrike (PU). This could probably have easily been incorporated into the original series hence the reason I added these...
Lastly, a tiny bit of Platinum with these two 1988 1/10 oz Platinum The Australian Koala (BU) in original adjoining capsules...
