  1. Any ideas about the prices for the 2oz silver proofs? RRP is £180.00. Secondary market likely to be.........?
  2. Good luck! Just remember to not lose your head in the moment (sorry if that is patronising!). It’s happened to me for sure and once the adrenaline has stopped surging, the realisation that you have to rely on beans on toast for a few weeks can hurt.......
  3. Agree with what everyone else has said about the process. As long as you have a good internet connection it should be smooth. They give fair warning and so there should always be time to bid. I have bought through Coin Cabinet auctions, consigned and sold and graded through them too. The service is exceptional and the team are professional and friendly. Good luck to all bidding and selling tomorrow!
  4. Is there any specific reason why the mint have been doing this - releasing in tranches? The numbers are not so high...they release 60,000+ proofs for some releases so why can’t they release all The Who/PP coins etc. on the same day? Anyone have insights?
  5. I think my attempt at humour was either too subtle or deeply unfunny......
  6. Haha. I have always been a fan of the Vera 90. I’m from Northumberland so have a love for those green machines...
  7. The Royal Mint have now amended their website...
  8. Has anyone spotted the error on the Royal Mint page?
  9. Didn't they say the only place to get the Team GB coins was in the annual sets? If they are now releasing them individually, that is unusual, no? A lot of money has been changing hands on the (presumed highly limited) graded ones...... Maybe its a 2021 version of the coin? Wouldn't be a massive surprise, to be honest!!
  10. Thanks for this. I have not heard about this - so really appreciate the heads up!
  11. Sounds like he was saying 4 Sovs were £16. So £4 each. He was earning £8 a week. You would need to be earning £630-660 a week these days. According to: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1002964/average-full-time-annual-earnings-in-the-uk/ The median annual earnings for full-time employees in the United Kingdom was approximately 31.46 thousand British pounds in 2020 According to: https://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php £31,460.00 gives a gross weekly salary of £605 or £481 after tax..... Your ‘average’ person will therefore find sovereigns a bit more expensive these days.....though I guess for a true comparison you would want to see what a Barclays employee gets these days (same job - so clerk or advisor etc. need more info!)
  12. Go through the desktop rather than mobile system and you should be able to select credit. Just need to do it directly via PayPal rather than via EBay.
  13. More like PJ and Duncan, that lot.
  14. There is going to be a sovereign with a privy of a Land Rover on its side.
  15. Out of interest for this 1976 vintage, what did a pint of milk/beer cost at the same time? Just for context!!
  16. Floorboards? Steel strengthened concrete walls and floors..........
  17. I'm in the process of closing my account. I won't be sad when the processing of the request is completed.
  18. Yes - this Government likes to make announcements. In all seriousness with an 80 seat majority and the fact that this may not even be debated in parliament it is as good as done. The key issue is that there needs to be an impact assessment completed first. Parliament will have the opportunity to scrutinise the agreement in detail once the text is published, along with an impact assessment and explanatory memorandum. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-agrees-historic-trade-deal-with-australia
  19. Gold is heading down, down, down..............sell your sovereigns to me for £275 each now before they dip down to £45 each............
  20. My understanding is that it is only an agreement in principal at this stage. Everything is as is for the time being. There has not yet been a parliamentary debate and there still needs to be an impact assessment completed.
  21. Heading back to £299.99 a sov!! Exciting times. (though others may remember when you could get a sovereign for £1...)
  22. It would be easy to Google this, but I like to think I’m not the only ignoramus on the forum......so please tell more and we can all benefit!! What’s the difference and how do you know (aside from the NGC label!!!)
