  1. Anything is possible! I hopefully will get one myself at some point soon!!
  2. Sorry, I meant the slab holder that you put the slabs into! The green coloured one!! Sorry for the confusion!!!!!
  3. Beautiful coins and a nice PCGS slab holder too! I’m collecting the unusual coloured ones so if you want to sell, let me know! Cheers.
  4. I bought a 70 of @Lr103 with similar issues. Of course he was super clear about the spotting and brilliant from the get go, so no issues from me! I bought it knowing what it was. I think we have to expect this on RM silver! I cancelled my 1/4 order in the end and ended up getting the 2oz Britannia and a graded Vic sovereign instead for the same money…happy with what I have and will be grading the 2oz as it’s a banging good 69 at least!! Happy Saturday, all.
  5. I am getting the lovejoy shakes………stunning.
  6. I agree with the concern re price of the 2oz gold proof coins but don’t forget that from the Mint’s perspective a lot of the people that bought the 2oz Graces also bought the 5oz graces. With a limited mintage they would still be assured of a very fast sell out. Saying that, I think such prices would price the vast majority of collectors out of the market. I agree with @Oldun re the business model and I think they will issue 2x1oz coins too.
  7. So this isn't being added to the 'today I returned' thread!!
  8. Does the CoA confirm the 250 and also refer to the 860?
  9. What do you think is wrong with it?
  10. Did anyone else manage to get one in the end? From what I can see there is a limited edition presentation of 250 but a maximum mintage of 860. This is grand if you are collecting and keeping in the capsule, but if grading, I guess it just joins the group of 860. I am storing up coins at the moment for grading and this one may be kept back in it's limited presentation. I do not have many that I do that with - but this could be one of them.
  11. Love this - it is a constant source of frustration for me that both NGC and PCGS occasionally place coins (I know this is subjective!) the 'wrong' way around. I know that it is a matter of taste, but I think there is generally a majority approval on some coins - including the 2016 set.
  12. Great question. It would be the sovereign for me. I cannot really explain why other than it is simply a combination of me preferring the historic and plus, I think it will hold a fine premium that is more likely to rise over time.
  13. I am always willing to trade in person. I work in London and am easily able to meet for coffee and to discuss things more generally. Always good to meet new people. I did a cash trade last year with a member on here (it was not thousands but hundreds) and that was easy and smooth (in part because the buyer is brilliant). I will keep my eyes open for your wanted posts and let you know if I can help. Welcome to the forum!
  14. Thanks to @arshimo2012 and @Heirlooms for the 2005 coins and @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions for the others (a selection of some of the items I got at the last auction). All investment pieces and my new decision to not concentrate on 70s is going well. Loads more coins and money to spend as a result of taking in 68 and 69s. I would recommend it to anyone who is tied down to the 70 only approach.
  15. Sounds bizarre! Have you told the mods? (not the ones on Lambretta's...) @ChrisSilver @trp @morezone @Lr103 @HelpingHands
  16. Thanks for the reply - much appreciated! Have a good long weekend! A.
  17. What equipment are you using at Chards to take these pictures!? They are fantastic images. I have some coins and could do with some better pictures for my files. My digital microscope is good for the small coins, but the larger ones? Forget it..... A.
  18. Yes - I am interested in seeing the Matt finished versions too. If anyone has either Gold or the Matt, please do share!
  19. Yes, he deserves praise not ridicule. Good on him. Reminds me a bit of the single line Picasso drawings.
  20. It looked slightly odd, @LawrenceChard, so I made a subtle change.
  21. A good time to be investing in Gothic Florins and, where you can, Crowns!! This is a lovely example!
  22. This got me thinking and curious enough to check the Population reports.........remember that the NGC/Royal Mint collaboration on the Mayflower and War/Peace coins was not as perfect - and despite the advertised mintage levels - the actual grading reports show far fewer numbers at PF70 etc......well.......something similar with the PCGS Pop report it seems: So the Silver Proofs have a reported mintage of 2,500 per design and the Matt Proofs a reported mintage of 600 per design ............here are the actual (current) figures: So, it seems the actual available current mintage for both (and they do come as a set!) is limited currently to 837 for the Silver Proof and 63 for the Matte.....I can only presume that the mint will keep sending coins to PCGS until the population is completed. Thoughts?
  23. The portrait is by Jody Clark so that explains the quality. It is such a nice coin in hand. I can’t wait to see what it is like as a 2oz coin. Unless, and this just occurred to me, the mint is mindful of the costs and will keep the Crown to a 1oz coin rather than 2oz? I say this because it’s a 2 coin set and the £s needed to buy the gold would be outrageous!! Much easier to keep the costs similar to previous releases........ I hate speculation and yet here I am.............
