Excellent I would say given the timeframes involved if the cup and handle pattern materialises it is time to start averaging in to the miners either way - (if you have physical already) then work your way down as chris A was saying, start with GDX > GDXJ then silver majors and so on until you are picking companies. GDX and GDXJ will do for me.
  4. Thanks

@Tn21 funny you should mention GDX and GDXJ I am trying to replicate some analysis seen on iGold Advisor YouTube channel in trading view (https://www.tradingview.com/ free to register and use) Yellow line is the Major/Minor share price overlaid onto the Gold price.
1st Chart Gold price comparison to GDX. When historically Gold hit price $1736 the major gold miners trading between $55 and $60 currently trading $30.42

2nd Chart Gold price comparison on GDXJ. When historically Gold hit price $1736 the minor gold miners trading between $100 and $150 currently trading $40

IMHO the conclusion analysis either all the combined Major and Minor Gold miners do not believe the current Gold price will be sustainable in the long term and Gold is heading lower or if we continue to see sustained higher highs and lower lows in the Gold price surpassing $1923 Gold price potential current GDX move from $30 to $60 (100% gain) and GDXJ move from $40 to $120 (200% gain).
Added both GDX and GDXJ symbols below GC (futures price on Gold) to my watch list broker account. See price of Gold up today 2.83% but GDX up 6.28% and GDXJ up 7.50%
The strategy I am looking at Gold price hit $1850 sell off back to $1750 / $1650 see chart pattern for support Gold price at this level forming then take speculative long trade on GDX/GDXJ (depends on the correlation at the time) potentially attempt break $1923 price.

Ok so these are mainly generic royal mint issues so nothing rare but I start buying a few coins as I’ve always been interested in them since being young. It’s only recently I moved onto the silver bars and bigger coins.
sorry for the bad lighting but I wanted to get some photos together quickly as they are going to storage.

Visited my safety deposit box today and put the recently acquired Gold with the rest of the Gold stack. Don't visit Safety Deposit box that often maybe once a year and took opportunity to take some photos. Gold bullion occupying 25% space in the box the remainder family jewellery. Still enough room in the box to add another 40 oz Gold in Royal Mint tubes to finish off Queens Beasts series.
Gold bullion square red box total 74.25 oz.

Someone or some many fixing the prices to go lower in order to buy or hold the currencies higher or to pump up in order to sell at a higher rate..,the way the world economy is going right now the need is to buy gold...buti f you let the market dictate the price its going to go mad...so the hfts or high frequency trading computers put in ghost or phantom orders to sell or buy without following through, they cancel the order just before its logged but the predictive hfts have it logged for not even a second and the market price shifts as it would when a large purchase or sale occurs...this then gives the hft or other hfts linked to it the ability to hbuy or sell at a manipulated price....they can sell for more or buy for less.

    OR

They can place another order to buy or sell and not follow through, this can keep the price going up or down...its not something they can do all day but enough times to steer the market higher, lower or keep it stagnant...if the market had to show the amount of phantom trades at the same time as trading goes on wed see with our own eyes the sheer amount of price fixing going on and if they listed the amount from each bank and investment houses trades that are cancelled in milliseconds wed know who is manipulting the market.

Ghost tradesor phantom trades dont always happen to pump or dump, they can be to create enough of a ripple that they make millions or billions on the small shivers the prices make when the phantom orders are put in then cancelled

Is it sensible if I wanted to lock in the price then to buy ETF then when premiums on physical falls sell and buy a coin?

I would just like to say about 1Toz platinum coins,  The prices are more expensive now to buy a coin than it was before the price dip.

No explanation to this chart apart from big arrow pointing down .
Free Chart from trading view. I bought my 1st batch Gold September 2018, I missed an opportunity May 2019 bought next batch December 2019 now subsequently sold. I do believe over the next X months possibility for Gold to retrace back to the $1450 level and I am holding cash waiting patiently for my next opportunity. Even in a major sustained sell off I don't see Gold going below $1360.

Finished with a very unpromising reversal on the day => a high chance that we are at a short term top.

The Fed appears to be following the BOJ in that they will buy everything forever. They have also effectively backstopped overseas central banks re the demand for dollars with a new program, the FIMA repo facility who can pass dollar  liquidity directly to banks in their own jurisdiction.

It is quite remarkable to think that, no matter which way it goes....we are right royally screwed
    Carry on.

"everything would be collapsing not just gold" Wrong, the purchasing power of your cash will rocket up, aside from any speculative bets on the collapse, this is why I sold my Gold recently at these crazy premium prices and im shorting Gold, because its going down with everything else
Agree that the Dollar will collapse too, but not before its reached 140 or even higher and destroyed the global financial system first being the last man standing, the higher the Dollar goes the higher it has to go, it will go as it high as it needs destroy everything 140/180/220 take your pick, when your a foreigner and owe $12 trillion in Dollar debt, your only choice is too print your own currency to buy Dollars, thus driving the Dollar even higher

consider building an emergency fund that includes physical gold
bullion(probably best to leave out silver for now). from this you
can add items, as and when your increased understanding
    allows(bargain hunting).
work on your strategy, recognising what prices 'should be' will
    come with experience.

I feel your pain and can relate to these experiences in every single way. As @sixgun would name these people as "zombies" which is a correct representation of the thinking these people possess but "slavery" is more accurate imo (my way to describe them, lol).
They arent interested and thats the honest truth as you stated - instead its 100% laser focused on trivial and highly irrational things like social media, netflix and highly consumed entertainment. And you know what? The very same people who arent interested in waking up moan about prices. You couldnt make it up! Its unbelievable!
