1986-W Statue of Liberty and 1987-W Constitution $5 Commems, and a 1927 Netherlands 10 Guilders.  Got each for $5 over spot.  The $5 commems were a pleasant surprise as they were advertised as just random dates in capsules only.  Guess they ran out and sent me graded ones instead.

Lovely. Can I ask why most of these come in this type of plastic wallet and others come in capsules? Does removing the coin from this wallet put future buyers off?

Yes, I'll arrange a photo - I'm going to check the page tomorrow, it is too confusing and very annoying. Sorry for the inconvenience.

There is a disclaimer "N.B Pictures may not represent the grade of product purchased." If I was paying that kind of money I would want to see the exact coin before purchase.

Well, it's a slippery slope this collecting lark. Having originally bought some 2017 bullion sovereigns just to hold some gold, followed by a 2018 when eBay did the 20% offer, followed by some random mixed modern dates from Atkinsons, I suddenly found myself contemplating date runs!
So, just taken the opportunity with a couple of 2012s from HGM and as I was ordering thought I'd go for a lucky dip too.
    I knew I shouldn't have started!!!!!!!

Nice! There was a 2002 in Hattons a few days ago. Not much of a premium compared to the best value but I hesitated and it went quickly!

I really like those Gairsoppa Silver Britannia Coins pictured above, but Jeez they are expensive.  The source I found for them is 3x spot, I mean WTF ?  I don't mind the mint putting a small premium on the metal to strike them, but 3x ?  They are pretty, but no silver is that special, I don't care if the pope rubbed it on his ass before they put them in the tubes.
    How's my English Westminstrel ...

Today I received ..... this tube of The 2013 S.S. Gairsoppa Silver Britannia Coins were the first in the Royal Mint’s S.S. Gairsoppa Silver Britannia series. Each coin has been carefully struck from actual silver recovered from the infamous S.S. Gairsoppa Shipwreck. The original 1,000 oz silver ingots recovered from the shipwreck have been refined by the Royal Mint and turned into these .999 pure 1/4 oz silver coins. These coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
    Coin Highlights:
Contains 1/4 oz of .999 pure silver.
Minted by the Royal Mint in Great Britain.
Part of the S.S. Gairsoppa series.
    Available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The image of Britannia has been associated with the British Isles since she was first minted on a coin in the first century AD during the reign of Roman Emperor Hadrian. Today, Britannia continues to be celebrated as a symbol of Britain’s illustrious history and might.
Each 2013 1/4 oz S.S. Gairsoppa Silver Britannia struck from S.S. Gairsoppa silver is in brand new condition and is stamped with its year, 2013. Each coin has been minted with 1/4 oz .999 pure silver. Owning this beautiful coin that is stamped with “S.S. Gairsoppa” along its outer edge is, indeed, like owning a genuine piece of British history. The obverse side of every coin showcases a profile view of Elizabeth II. The reverse, of course, reflects the beautiful image of Britannia as she stands along Britain’s shores with her helmet, trident, and shield.

I bought my 2012 from Hattons, took advantage of the premium reduction.
I like the design of the 2012, trouble is in my opinion the bu lacks depth and definition, and I have seen several different coins to compare, I own some bu 2012 halfs and they are the same and appear more so than other bu Sovereign coins, but then it is bu not Proof.
I would like to hold a Proof in my hand to compare.
The premiums are high on all of 'special' years Sovereign, and demand for the Shield and 2005 is quite strong, hence my purchase.  I'm attempting to put together a date run of a dozen coins, 2000 onwards.

Yeah seems to be. There’s a bunch of 2012 still in hattons but there were a lot more minted than 2002/2005.
goldsovereignexpert have a 2002 proof for £380 (no coa).  Not sure if that’s a good deal but judging by eBay about £450 for a proof seems resasonable

They've had them a while, I notice they've dropped the premium since I told them they were too expensive! probably coincidence but they are also loose coins rather than in mint plastic.
