Wanted this since 16 years old finally got it.

My purchase from the London coin fair today. 1887 half-sovereign.
 

Added a whole bunch of 1/25s to my fractional collection. A nice varied selection 

Stragglers arrived this morning thanks again to @Lea79 for the die crack-tastic Victoria Half and another eBay pocket money £1 Proof. 

Late finish at work- but always nice to see the spoils of the last lot of overtime I worked.

Delivered yesterday, 2019 Premium Sovereign Proof Set.


Also bought a couple of coins from the LCS.  An 1853 $1 Liberty Type 1, and an 1861 $1 Type 3 Indian.  I'm only missing the $1 Type 2 and the $3 Indian Princess to complete my U.S. gold type set.


And if anyone hasn't examined a $1 gold coins in hand, here is a pic of them next to the tip of a pen for scale to show how small they are.  How people back then could have transacted with these without losing them is beyond me.

This is just a little selection to give you all a little flavour for the London Coin Show,  where there will be more than just sovereigns...

The RM postage packaging was a lot better than last time I ordered a year ago, actually came in two boxes rather than just a jiffy bag 

Greenburry Vintage Wallet from the big South American river. 

The big one comfortably holds 1kg of Sterling Silver (haven't reached capacity with the gold one yet)

Can stack diversification get any more beautiful?

This is a belated "today I received", because after a very public hallmarking failure at the Edinburgh Assay Office due to silver contamination, this BYB gold bar was hesitant to leave the pouch 

However, it eventually mustered the courage to emerge, with the help of these gold eagles which it turns out are 3% silver.  The bar began to realize there is other gold bullion in the world that contains even more silver, but is still widely accepted.

Now well adjusted, and comfortable with its silver content, the bar has joined the stack and exists in harmony with bullion of all shapes, sizes, and metal content.  

A huge thank you to @BackyardBullion for doing on awesome job with this bar, as usual!!
